Stretching before/after lifting?

How many of you stretch before lifting? How many after? Both before and after?

What are the benefits to doing stretching before and after workouts?

Would anyone say that it is absolutely necessary?

ahhhh oh man
ok here we go
there are three common types of stretching 2 should /could be done piroir to lifting
the two piroir
dynamic stretching is strteching with motion
self myofascia release istype of message like strteching using a foam roller
go to boarders and find core proformace sit down in the coffe shop portion and read the 2 chapters on those types of stertching ,they are quick reads it will take you 20 mins tops

pwo stretching should be static - common stretching you do in gym class or whatever

yes stretching is absoutly nessacry , let me tell you why
if you dont stretch adventally your muscle on my side will becaome shorter
generally this is the postieoir portion of your body (due to too much time sitting /desk jobs) ok so your hams become tight , along with your calves and generally speaking hip flexors , lilla band ..so on
this will affect your ability to do full squats your knees will pass your toes which will destroy your knees
also it will cause you to have an improper gate (the way your foot hits the ground ) this will misalign your whole kinitic chain , cause problems starting in your feet moving up to knees then hips and back , this is a huge cause of back pain in older adults

There should be a thread about stretching with everything in it (kinds of stretching when done ect). And which are known to work, and which ones people are still not completely sure about...

Not necessary if your goals arent increased flexibility, muscle size and blood flow.

i disagree , for health purposes porper posture and proper alignment of the kinitic chain , stretching is a must
its kinda like saying there is no reason to do cardio

wait , i think i just ranted for no reason since in there you said increased muscle size which indicates you are for stretching
ok sorry if i came off rude i am still leaving this post up cause i really want the orig poster to see the importance of proper muscle length

some of the "famous" powerlifters in todays scene for years didnt advocate stretching etc....now they are basically cripples who cant pass a standard physical
