Arrow Changes made, however scales show weight loss.

Firstly, thanks to those who replied to my previous post. I took the advice and made changes to my routine.

Increased my weights as advised, i have now switched to a 10kg barbell and Cardio is now down to 12 - 25 minutes. I have increased my portions of sweet potatoes, egg whites, raw tuna/salmon, flaxseed bread and peanut butter (i finally purchased Power Butter from BodyBuilding.com, was unable to find a natural selection..all they ever have is KRAFT). Poultry portion has been kept the same though.

Although i have not had the time to use FitDay.com here, I must be eating more, i know i am! But ever since i arrived, everyone has been commenting on my weight and shoving an array of highly processed foods in my face. I take my health and goals seriously, i know they care greatly about me, but it is becoming quite frustrating. I just got back from a medical examination today (to process my visa - i am finally moving to Sydney ) and received accurate results of my height, etc. It seems that i have lost 1.1 kg...?!!
(Current: 5'09" >> 81.79 lbs >> BMI 15)

It this expected? I had hoped i would be packing on the weight slightly. Seems like my body is burning faster than it is gaining; eager to let go of fat after removing all highly processed foods from my diet. Hopefully i am successfully maintaining my lean body mass despite the weight lost. I will be having beef tonight, it will be my first steak in enons (eating too much meat makes me feel ill)...hopefully my body will happily disgest it!

I am having the same problem! I'm not quite as thin as you. I'm 5'8 and weigh around 110. I have been adding calories and lessening my cardio and upping my weights and I've lost weight! I'll be interested to see what others say. My thought was that maybe we were in a calorie deficit for so long that our bodies were holding on to everything and now maybe it will go down a little before it comes back up? I hear you on other people. It's so frustrating when they try to get your to eat cookies and pizza and stuff, thinking that's the only way to gain weight. I've had numerous fights with my family and loved ones. I know they care, but I want to gain weight in a healthy way. Good luck to you!

Man, zutons, that's so irritating to have people think you need to get fatter to be healthier. I really don't like your weight being that low, but it can definitely be as frustrating as trying to lose weight.

If you're continuing to lose weight....I'd think you should stop cardio, completely. I'll be very interested in what Terra and lou have to say about this!! Perhaps you should consider increasing your calories further, too?? Do you eat a lot of grains?? I normally loathe bagels, and never advise people to eat them, but, most of the people to whom I give advice are trying to lose....maybe you can consider eating bagels with peanut butter (fat and carbs), and instead of sipping on water (unless you're working out), sipping on whey shakes?? You'd easily fit in another 400 or so calories, just switching to whey rather than water.

I've done research on the PSYCHOLOGICAL aspects of being underweight, but, not so much the physical. I completely disagree with your friends and family trying to force feed you unhealthy foods, but, it is good that you understand they're just trying to be helpful. I'd smile, say you appreciate the offer, but that that sort of food isn't healthy for anybody, and definitely won't help you.

p.s. you're moving to Syndey?!?! Lucky!! Where are you from??

You know, i can't walk through my own hall way without being stopped to hear about the 'standard-height-to-weight table'. I have always been positive, appreciative in response and i do try and throw in a fact or two, but it becomes..exasperating. They just continue to smile and go on about how i must take care of my health or i will eventually vanish...wither, i suppose. I am not heard, i will not be heard until i have extra flab for pinching during one of those family reunions, heh.

I do sip on a mixture of Whey and milk actually and i have been eating up to 6 egg whites and a decent amount of sweet potatoes (i am guessing 300? grams) as my first meal of the day. I usually stretch most of the sweet potatoes throughout the day as a snack though and i suppose it is safe to say i am not over doing the carbs since i am not gaining? Stopped eating rice actually, it weighs my stomach down greatly. In Sydney, i usually have tasty buckweed soba noodles, feel much lighter for some strange reason. I guess the right thing would be to increase all my portions, any weird combinations i could add to my list?

From asia Sydney has such pretty weather, blue skies and not a cloud in the sky.
