jesse james is so overrated
the dude can barely use duct tape..yet he is on so many tv shows and dating sandra bullock.
on every show he is just elling everyone (the experts) what to do like if he was some top ****. like they bring an old dude who is an expert on engines. he bilds a hell of a monster and then jesse gets all the credit for it.
all he does is tell people what to do just cause it's his show while every one on the show is a veteran at what they do and are so much more knowledgeable than he is.
on one of the shows he was telling how he wanted to retire and never wokr anymore cause he was tired of life. wtf the dude is a hell of a well connected oportunist who coudn't whipe his own ass.
they have like 20 people working on a car on the show yet they end up building some lame working crap. and of course it was all done by jesse jame yea right

He's got some talent..
But don't bother puttin him in a room with Pop or Pauly Jr.. He isn't fit to hand them their tools..

Not like 50 cent can rap either, but he's marketable.
The Jesse James name sells and people like the idea of a rebel, so they decided to make a show where a "renegade" craftsman and his "team" make "crazy" contraptions.

Screw Monster Garage, that's just to make money. As a bike builder and metal craftsman, he's one of the best in the world. His bikes may not be out there like Paul Jr.'s Theme bikes, but Jesse hand hammers the tanks himself and welds his own exhaust. The guys at OCC wouldn't hold a candle to Jesse for true craftsmanship.
And if it wasn't for Jesse's "Motorcycle Mania", Discovery would have never had OCC build the Jet Bike.

Just to back up Mr Hartski most of the kind of work that Jesse does on the tanks and fenders was almost a lost art. We had gotten into letting machines do all the work while we watched. ONce again to see him take a flat piece of metal and turn it into a tear drop tank is damn near magic.

Yeah, Jesse actually got a whole new generation of craftsmen interested in real metalwork. I loved how he went to learn how to work copper from that old timer for his bike in Motorcycle Mania III.
Anyone can take a stamped tank and weld some **** to it, but only a few guys in the world can start from sheet stock and make their own like Jesse can.

Just check out the bike he did for Motorcycle Mania 2. He made the frame himself, the tank, ect. It's just a beautiful, amazing work of art.

what you dont see in monster garage are the skills that jesse james does possess, he's wicked awesome at welding, taking out top welder in the country 2 or 3 times i think?
besides, monster garage isnt all about jesse james, its more about the team work of the project members, but of course jesse does get to throw his 2 cents in...

I agree with the majority here. As far as overall skills and versatility, pretty much nobody beats Jesse James. There are probably a handful of people in the world who can do what he does. I like the fact that he welds and builds pretty much everything from scratch, rather than buying ready-made frames, tanks, etc. and just fabricating. That's not to say that the guys at OCC have no talent, because they obviously do have talent and an insane amount of creativity. It's just that comparing OCC to WCC is like comparing apples and oranges. Both have completely different approaches and a completely different skillset.

There are a huge amount of custom bike builders that do what Jessie and the OCC guys do everyday. They just aren't on Discovery, or lack the charisma of Jessie and the Teutels. Obviously the WCC and the OCC guys are skilled, but they aren't the only people that can do the work. To me the best builder seen on Discovery was Indian Larry.

He has amazing talent......
The original poster is not worthy to even cut his toenails...i dont defend his career choices, but that guy there is a very talented man.
And Orange County Choppers are schmuks compared to Jesse......
