Getting into supplements, but clueless as to where to start? Look no further!
First of all, before you get into supplements, you must first make sure that you have these in check... - A good, healthy diet. If you are in need of a meal plan, head over to our Nutrition Forum.
- Drinking plenty of water, preferably 1-2 gallons a day.
- Getting about 8 hours of sleep each night
- Have a solid workout plan. Head over to our Workout Programs Forum if you need one.
If you got those in check, you are off to a good start, now lets talk about supplements! REMEMBER, supplements are called supplements for a reason, they should never replace any of those listed above!
There are over millions of supplements to choose from, so where in the world do you start? Before you jump in and start spending thousands of dollars on them, I suggest you start off with the basics: Multi-Vitamins, Essential Fatty Acids, Proteins, and Creatines. Once you start to have more experience with supplements should you jump into other types.
Below, I have listed some of the supplements that are very popular among this forum. Click on the names to find out more about the product.
Multi Vitamins
Essential Fatty Acids
Proteins- Whey Concentrate / Blend
- Whey Isolate
- Casein / Slow Digesting
Creatines- Bulk
- Blends
- Controlled Labs Green Bulge ($0.87 per serving, 5 Capsules)
- Designer Supplements Xceed ($0.80 per serving, 1 scoop)
- Dymatize Energized Xpand ($0.90 per serving, 1 scoop)
- Dymatize Xpand Caplets ($0.45 per serving, 4 Caplets)
- Dymatize Xpand Powder ($0.72 per serving, 1 scoop)
- ErgoPharm Cell Fuel ($0.90 per serving, 6 Caplets)
- Gaspari Nutrition SizeOn ($1.60 per serving, 1 scoop)
- MAN Clout ($0.80 per serving, 1 scoop)
- Omega Sports Cre-Ethyl Thunder ($0.87 per serving, 8 Capsules)
- S.A.N. Vault ($1.02 per serving, 1 scoop)
- SNS CVM Xtreme ($0.75 per serving, 1 scoop)
- SwoleN ($0.63 per serving, 1 scoop)
- ThermoLife CrE2 ($0.67 per serving, 4 Capsules)
- ThermoLife Xplode Reload ($1.19 per serving, 1 scoop)

Dang, that took literally forever! I will keep on updating the list, if u know a good product dat is not listed up there, please let me know! Also please let me know if there is a dead/wrong link!
I was also going to explain a little on the difference of protein, creatine, and how you should take them, but dang, i'm way too tired rite now! I might edit those in later, but if someone could write it for me, dat'll be great! credit will be given!

Nice format Justin... just a FYI.. Xpand comes in capsules and powder.. not sure if you want to add that in there somewhere.
Dymatize is also probably worth adding under Concentrates / Blends.. because I know that alot of guys have switched from Optimum to Dymatize (for whatever reason).
You may also want to replace the creatine numbers with "Bullets" like you did for the others

A lot of good info there. But what about servings per container? Also, the prices are from what site or store? It’s different everywhere you shop, maybe you can put average range of prices.

thx! my reasoning for not putting up the servings per container is beccause i thought that would make the list look too complicated. Plus, if they wanted to know, they could just click the link . Also bb.com probably doesn't want me listing store prices of other sites.

its safe to say the prices are connected to where its linked to: this site. its fine the way it is, no reason to put average price ranges if you arent going to link to other stores.
OP, maybe consider an antioxidant section? imo multi + efa + antioxidant are much more important than creatine which i feel is far from necessary for anyone, including bodybuilders.

Good post! As for antioxidants, you could include ALA and green tea extract, or possibly NAC (I've never used this one personally so I can't back it up) or vitamin C (though it's in every multi).

Antioxidants / related:
NAC
Vitamin C
ALA / ALCAR
K-R-ALA
Ginko
Grape Seed
TMG / Betaine
Green Tea
Ginger
Celery Seed
Not a "staple" supp if you are getting plenty of veggies / greens... but it's being pushed as a "staple" by several companies.
If you add antioxidants I would add BCAA / EAA... but I would put both under a Intermediate / Advanced Heading....

AT first I didn't realize they were links, for some reason the first time I looked at them, all the text was black, not blue. I just read it...
Sorry man, good stuff anyway

dats what i was thinking too, I DID mention to have a proper solid diet before getting into supplements. U should be getting plenty of veggies with a proper diet. So unless someone can really convince me otherwise, i think i'll leave out antioxidants..

Hmm, well that is interesting Maybe in the intermediate advanced add something about NO2 boosters? This could end up being a nice thread for all levels...sticky-worthy .

I think you only have like 24 hours to edit it... otherwise you would have to let a mod edit it.
