I promised to continue this issue, its long, but it is important, I see it not only important, it's very important, despite the fact the it's not a fundamental issue in Islam, the fact that some moslims turn non fundamentals into fundamentals and try to enforce their opinion trying to seem as if it's the only Islamic opinions is very dangerous to us moslims and any one who thinks to join Islam.


That's why it's important to continue clearing this issue up

This is the main thread for me in this issue. I made a thread months ago that is beneficial, but this i intent to be the main by God ''Allah'' willing. Hope to be beneficial by God ''Allah'' willing.

I begin by the translation of The known scholar Qaradawee's paper about singing and music (it's a long one, I intent to translate it on stages by God ''Allah'' willing, this is the first part, it's very clear and obvious):

The issue of singing with an instrument (means with music) and without an instrument, is an issue that made a debate between muslim scholars from the first ages, they agreed on points, and had different opinions on other points.

They agreed on prohibiting any singing the had bad and wicked words (like obvious bad adultery words), and incitement for sins and bad doings, as singing is not but words, so its good is good and its bad is bad. And every saying that obviously disagree with the morals if Islam is prohibited, and so what if it has the rhythm and strong effect?.

And they agreed on allowing besides this (singing) in times of known lawful joy like wedding, arrival of the traveller, feasts and festiity, etc, and in this there are clear obvious right statements.

Beside that They varied in opinions, From them who allowed every singing with musical instruments or without, and considered it a good thing to do, and from them who allowed it without instrument and prohibited it with instruments, and from them who prohibited it all.

And what we say and reassure from opinions: That singing itself is allowed as that the base in things is allowance as long as there is no obvious very clear right statement that prohibit it, and any thing that is said in prohibiting singing is either obvious but not right, or right but not clear or obvious. And from it is the two verses that was said.

As for the first verse ''from the holy Qraan'' (and from people who buy distraction talk) surah loqman, verse 6, etc. Some followers took it as a prohibition for singing and the best answer for us to their understanding is what the known old scholar Ibn Hazm sayed in his book ''Almohala'': he said:

[No evidence or proof in that in more than a way: The first is that there is no right for anyone to prohibit except for the Prophet of God ''Allah'' (PBUH). And the second is that other followers disagreed with them. And the third is that the exact statement of the verse refute and refuse their claim. Cause the verse has the description: (and from people who buy distraction talk to make stray from God ''Allah'' way without knowledge, and takes it as mocking) holy Quraan surah loqman, verse 6. And this is a description of who has done is a complete disbeliever ''pagan'' without argue, And if a person even buys a copy of the holy Quraan but used it to make stray from God ''Allah'' way without knowledge and takes it as mocking he is a disbeliever ''pagan'', This is who God ''Allah'' has described. And He ''God'' did not ever rail who buys distraction talk for mere distraction and entertain, not to make stray from God ''Allah'' way. And also who distract intentionally from prayer (by not doing the must five prayers) by reciting the holy Quraan or reading the traditions, or any talk or singing or any other thing he is a sinner, and who did not miss the must prayer and the must deeds and also distracted and entertained himself he is a good man.]

The Prophet (pbuh) said:

“There will appear people in my nation, who will hold adultery, silk, alcohol and musical instruments to be lawful”

Be careful not to fit one of the descriptions of Muslims near the End Times, who hold such unlawful things as adultery, the wearing of silk, the consumption of alcohol, and the playing of musical instruments as lawful.

Actually, only pure silk is forbiden, not manufactured silk. I doubt you're boxers are pure natural silk

Silk itself isn't bad though, keeps ya warm in the winter, cool in the summer.

I believe that silver rings are permissable for men, but it's best to stay away from jewlery for men. It's the prophetic example to be humble.

Dude, you'd have to be pretty rich to eat with golden utensils. Maybe Saddam or the Saudi Family does, but that's about it.

You'd be surprised actually. Many restaurants have gold/silver plated utensils. Many middle-class families can afford such wears.

Can muslims eat out, since they don't know if the meat is killed properly or not? It seems like the only places a muslim could eat out at restuarants would be in muslim countries.

I believe it is permissible of there's nothing I can do about it (or maybe scholars disagree). There's always seafood

You'd be surprised how many places in the States offer Halal meat. We even have a freakin Halal meat delivery service over here
