Grammar lesson # 1 – there/their/they’re
And for my next trick, some basic grammar lessons.
Lesson#1: There/their/they're. These are different words and cannot be interchanged freely. You can't just use whichever one you want because they sound the same.
There.
As an adverb, e.g. don't even go there
As a pronoun, e.g. There is a dude with WSA.
As an adjective, e.g. I wanna PIITB of that there girl.
As a noun, e.g. I wanna PIITB of that girl over there.
Their.
This words denotes possession (meaning ownership, like when something belongs to someone).
Their car is faster than ours.
Those girls - I wanna PII their Bs.
They're
When you see an apostrophe (that little floating comma --> ' ), that means one of two things normally. Either something has been dropped or it denotes possession (see above). In this case, the letter "a" has been dropped. So really, this little beauty expands out to "They are".
E.g.
They're gonna mess with that 6'4 mother trucker.
They're gonna get WSA.

Is there any reason for you to be so mean and to judge their intelligence by Internet posts?
There is this guy on misc who is for excample a fireman and hero in my books.
Did I pass?

I know what you mean though. But I expect that kind of stuff here on a MB. Where I don't expect it is here, at work, where there are educated adults who still use the wrong their/there/they're, in their emails and their word documents.
