PMS is tough y'all
Is there any way to eat during PMS week that will accommodate cravings for chocolate and bread but won't leave you bloated? Hungry-girl.com is my favorite site, but I am on the verge of making some old fashioned chocolate cupcakes (without protein! *gasp*).

I am pms'ing this week too...probably why I am posting several freak out posts (in journal and question section). I am eating a lot of good fats this week to avoid a pms binge. I also had 2 cookies yesterday, and I am ok. Today when I got home I had a high fiber/protein bar, and spread a little PB on it...sure did do the trick. Also Sugar Free syrups really trick me, I take natty pb, cottage cheese and sugar free maple syrup...mix it all up and it feels like a cheat.
Seriously...I hear you. If you have the cupcake, just know all is not lost...but just make sure you ENJOY it during and after. Guilt with food is something I don't wish upon anyone!

Would this help?
1/2 cup of oatmeal, uncooked
1 scoop of chocolate whey protein powder
1 Tbsp of natural peanut butter
Microwave oatmeal (with about 1 cup of water) in microwave-safe bowl for one minute. When done, stir in chocolate whey protein powder and natural peanut butter. If too thick for your liking, add more water.
It tastes like a peanut butter cup and the oatmeal should curb your carb craving. Hope it helps

mmm sounds good
there are sugar free icecream solutions that arent so bad
personally, though, i would just eat the chocolate. your sanity is more important than however many calories you'd be consuming, it won't plummet you into obesity either. and while its not nutritious, atleast you can rationalize it somewhat by knowing that your metabolism is higher during your period

Really?! I never knew that menstruating sped up one's metabolism. That's great to know for my "free day" when Aunt Flo is visiting . Although I'm so bloated during that time I fell like I'll gain a 100 pounds just from looking at celery.
Definitely try the oatmeal if you get a chance, it's goooooooood.

I use to have terrible cravings during pms but started taking in EFA's and last month was none. Seriously literally none. If I am free from the demons this month also I will never let my healthy fats drop again ;-)

I used to have terrible cravings while PMSing and tried Evening Primrose Oil. It helped with bloating and stuff, but not cravings. I started taking Borage Oil instead (it has a higher concentration of GLA) about 5 months ago and after a month I had NO cravings. I take 1500 mgs morning and evening.

Yesterday I ate a cup of deathby chocolate ice cream followed by 3 teaspoons of nutella... And i dont feel guilty ONE BIT! (i keep telling that to myself.) After weeks and weeks of counting, and being good, I really dont feel too bad indulging this once.
I just wish I had read this post before i did it. I would have mixed some penut butter with cottage cheese and sugar free syrup...

I get my cravings the days before TOM starts. The day of (which happens to be today) I get painful cramps that make me not want to eat anything. Is there anything that can help with cramps? Usually I take Advil and that works, but lately TOM cramps have been getting worse - what a pain! I literally don't want to do anything right now but curl up on the couch.

try motrin along with a menstral heating pad, sip some herbal tea too and take some time out of the day to lay down and take it easy. that really helped me. For some odd reason, my TOM was really cruel to me in my teens, since being in my 20s, its not so bad anymore (not that i actually LIKE it still)
and while we're talking about TOM, who else cringes at the Always tagline, "have a happy period"

Pms
My appetite increases when I have PMS. Are there any supplements on the market that can decrease appetites? I have tried all the fat burners but they don't work for me.

Thanks for the tips on peppermint and the heating pad - I'll give them a try. It's gotten to a point where the first couple of days of my TOM I'm pretty useless - just go like a robot through the day and try to lay down as much as possible when not working.
My appetite can get out of control, too. I buy rice cakes (cheddar - yum) to tide me over - I know they're not great for me but when I need a volume of food to satify a craving, they seem to do the trick.

I want to punch the person in the mouth who invented that stupid line. One of the most annoying lines ever on a commercial, and that's saying something.
