5 year relationship with gf...want to buy ring...but not engagement ring...yay or nay
Title says it all.
I've been dating my girl for 5 years...we've been through a ton. We're 21...not ready for marriage yet...but I want to get her a ring.
Not an engagement ring...and not really a promise ring.
Any other good ideas?
I've already gotten her necklaces in the past...bracelets, etc.

Get a pair of nice bands. Have "I promise" or something engraved in the inside. A friend of mines 19 and he just did that right before christmas. Talk about making a girl happy.

Everyone that Ive ever known that bought their girlfriend a promise ring broke up.
Buy her some other sort of jewerly and just buy an engagement ring if/when the time is right.

Forget about it man. She will be disappointed that it is not an engagement ring but some rink-a-dink ring. In your situation it sounds about right since you been in a 5 year relationship. I certainly would not do it but suit yourself.
