solid white stringy goo around yolk?

ive always goten rid of this stringy solid white goo around the yolk (not the whites) it seems to be in every egg. ive heard that saturated fats are solid, but that IS saturated fat right? or should i stop?

J/K, think of it anatomically. If it were fertilized, which it's not, that part I think is the placenta equivalent. The yolk and white are just food for the baby chicken, so the body has to grow somewhere. I could be wrong, but that's what I thought it was. That would likely be protein also. I'm fairly sure the only fat in an egg is the yolk.

The white part is called the Germinal disc it is where the hens genitic materal is stored. If it were to be fertilized it would become the chicken. Thanks for asking the question because I always wondered if it was the chickien..reps to you

that string is what keeps the yolk held in the center of the egg before you crack it. just eat it you cant notice the taste (if it has any). eggs are good for ya.
