Without adhering to your future-telling, not all of them are like that, perhaps moreso in developed countries.

You know what? I think it's really down to our Consumer societies. In our societies, people don't really take the time to give a **** about little things that they care about, whenever we see something shocking we can just retreat into our consumer society and keep ourselves happy. Muslims need this. Let us open up waves of Walmarts/Music Stores/Adult Entertainment Complexes/Multiplex Cinemas/Bowling Alleys/Fast Food Restaurants in the hearts of their cities.

Yeah thats what happens when 40% of your religion is illiterate and the only

book you read is the quaran and you mis- interpret that itself This is

part of the reason why Bush has troops in the middle east......Muslims and

What do you define as "no muslim outrage"?

From that list its obvious you think muslims are only outraged if they're violently protesting in the streets.

I didn't see any western societies in the streets violently protesting half those incidents. Does that mean we're not outraged by them either?

By Muslim outrage he means a general rage by most of the Muslim community that can be witnessed by both members of the Muslim community and by outsiders. For example, the example of the Danish cartoons depicting Mohammed, there is a general consensus in the Muslim community that these are bad, and their rage towards the comics is documented. There is no such documentation of a general rage within the muslim community against acts of violence towards the rest of the world.

The only defense would be that "not all Muslims are like this", well that is quite apparent but we are talking about the general feeling towards an action by the Muslim community and there was no such general feeling of rage against these acts of violence.

i think what they mean is. These acts of violence were caused by a muslim, and should make their religion look bad. If these acts of violence are not supported by their religion why don't they protest against it, but they protest over a cartoon instead.

to put it easier
for example bob and jane knows each other.
bob kills some one in the name of jane. jane does not support the muder and says so publicly. John does not have a obligation to say he does not support the muder, because it has nothing to do with him.

Oh I thought you guys were talking about the subject of this thread. Do you remember the first post? How it stated that Muslims apparently showed no outrage to a bunch of incidents and then showed outrage about the cartoons.

The poster thought that muslims weren't outraged because they didn't protest violently about those other incidents. I pointed out that westerners didn't violently protest against most of them either, so by the same logic, we musn't be outraged either. That is what this thread is about.

If you want to debate the merit of violent protest, I suggest you find a thread that is discussing it or start your own.

Basically it comes down to this. Muslims are willing to take to the streets and protest, burn down buildings and destroy things because of a few ink blots on paper, but when someone uses their religion as a tool for evil, commits unspeakable acts that put their religion in a more negative light than 1 million cartoons could, the response is less than emphatic.

People are people... and people **** up. Not every muslim is perfect, just like not every christian, hindu, or jew is. People who commit awful acts should be punished regardless of their belief. There are over a billion muslims in the world, and its the fastest growing religion.. so they are not gonna be going anywhere soon. well i was talking about all over the world, including in this country but yah you make a valid point, its a shame whats going on over there. Too bad there isnt enough oil to go over there. i would have been more in favor of a premptive war in sudan than in iraq.
