Earths Natural Wonders
What are some of the coolest/weirdest things on Earth?? Im not talking man made, Im talking natural.
Heres my votes....
Oasis's in Deserts-Thousands of miles of sand and heat....then all of a sudden a couple acres of green plants and springs of water in the middle of nowhere....
Aurora Borealis-crazy looking neon lights in the sky
Grand Canyon-largest gourge in the world...amazing looking
Some others that I can think of
-Niagra Falls
-Amazon River/Rainforest

Apparently this is in Virginia:
How's this for an unusual cloud formation. This is in Japan as far as I know...
Iceland: Gullfoss.
And the "blue lagoon".
I think this is Canada, possibly Berg Lake (correct me if I'm wrong?)

Havent seen too many natural wonders, but I couldn't take my eyes off of the water for nearly 20min after first seeing it. I was literally mesmerized, not thinking it was real. It is like a sheet bluest glass where the only movement of water is from the touring boat. The closest Ive ever felt to God.

I've been to Niagara falls, went underneath it, fukin sick.

I've been to the Grand Canyon,, let me tell you it is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. The pics look amazing, but in person, the place is so freakin huge and expansive, it looks so fukin incredible. For some reason, my mom wanted a good picture, so she stepped over the barrier, and down the cliff a bit... No idea why the fuk she did that, cuz she couldve slipped and died. (2-3 years ago)
But seriously, these places are wicked sick!

Thats pretty intresting,a lake in the middle of the desert =))
Im originally from Irkutsk, Russia. I lived near this lake. Baikal it contains like 1/4 of all earths fresh water supply. Really old lake, one of the deepest in the world, and contains its own unique life (Creatures only found there not anywhere else) Also the lake is known for its clean water.
I lived near the lake all my life untill I moved to the States, went back there this summer. Absolutely amazing. Spent a week there camping and had time of my life =)
Lake Baikal Brief Facts:
The Pearl Of Siberia Lake Baikal is called the "Pearl of Siberia". It holds 20 % of the earth's unfrozen fresh water and harbors more endemic species of plants and animals than any other lake in the world. Fed by 336 rivers and streams including the Angara, Barguzin, Selenga, Turka and Snezhnaya, the lake holds fifty species of fish including bullhead, sturgeon and omul.
The length of the coastline is about 2,100 km. There are 30 rocky islands on the lake, the biggest one being Olkhon Island. According to the legend, Olkhon Island is the birthplace of Mongolian ruler Genghis Khan. Baikal is the largest lake in EurAsia, and it is the deepest lake in the world (1,620 metres).
Because of its magnitude alone the lake is known as one of the earth's most impressive natural wonders. The size of Lake Baikal is so incredible that it would take all of the rivers on earth combined an entire year to fill it. As another point of comparison, if Lake Baikal was to be drained, it would take all Great Lakes of the United States, Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario, to refill the empty enormous bowl.
The lake is surrounded with wild mountains and rivers--that makes the Lake Baikal region an ideal area for outdoor activities such as hunting, hiking, climbing, rafting, kayaking, skiing, and nature photography.
Lake Baikal remains a crossroads of many Asian cultures, combined with European cultural influences, where native Sayats still herd reindeer and Buryat people live according to their old customs. The region is in close proximity to Mongolia and its ancient culture.
For a long time Baikal attracted people of different cultures and backgrounds from around the world: travelers, archeologists, historians, geographers and biologists. The mystery of the lake and its beauty give people an inspiration and spiritual comfort.
Impressed by The Great Puzzle of the Planet or The Bright Eye of the Earth, any one can regain a feeling of being in harmony with nature unspoiled by civilization.
