MuscleTech made a boo-boo with their Anator P70 ad.
I noticed the ad on the back of M&F March for MuscleTech's new Anator P70. It goes on and on about millions of dollars worth of research and then states "over 40,000 genes tested through state-of-the-art gene chip analysis".
I guess with all that money and fancy equipment they forgot to actually look at how many genes were in the human genome: 25,000-30,000. Perhaps they branched out and studied the genes of other animals to develop the new super supplement... I don't know.
But I do know that whoever wrote that ad needs to start looking for a new job.

I think their job is safe.
Their target audience doesn't know that information.

I still just think it's hilarious that they're claiming it works on a genetic level

Haven't seen the ad but from that it only imply's it's refering to humans.

I find it interesting that when going to the MT website you can find no info on what the ingredients are. Just a lot of Advertisements and claims.
What's in this stuff?

Muscletech and even more so Fizogen are the most immoral companies in the entire world. Up there with Enron. I actually read the Fizogen add in Flex. They are so full of **** that it makes me want to really bad things to them. Especially Randy's(UFC) supplement cycle.

I'm not on muscletechs side at all, but maybe they were targeting certain genes not EVERY gene. For instance you wouldnt want to research the genes responsible for hair growth/color/etc. for a muscle building supplement now would you. BTW I could care less about thier research.

This doesn't make sense for many reasons. How does them supposedly only targeting certain genes make up for the fact that they got the number of genes wrong? If they were only targeting certain genes, the number would be so low. I mean, we have ~25,000 genes and the vast majority of them don't even code for protein. What does that tell you?
Granted, before the genome project was completed, some people thought we had upwards of 50,000 genes. Maybe MT was going off of some old research...

This seems completely stupid, Correct me if i'm wrong here...
A gene codes for a protein product (the ones they would be interested in). The gene either works to translate that protein, or it doesn't (meaning it's mutated and translates a different protein, or none at all, or there was an error in transcription, etc..). So what exactly are they claiming (completely falsly) to be able to do here? That somehow ingesting a supplement will change specific genes which will make you bigger (maybe change the amount of testostorone you produce or something?).
Basically they are claiming that some how they are achieving gene splicing through an orally ingested supplement? Is anyone stupid enough to believe that?
I may be way off here and i have to admit that i haven't read this add of theirs or what the product claims to do, but if that is infact what it is claiming i think i'm going to get a copy of that add and show my biochem/microbiology professors for a laugh.

"...the only supplement scientifically engineered to activate key genes that trigger musclebuilding. It manipulates master genetic regulators p70(S6K), MAFbx, FOXO, PKB, and mTOR... gains of more than 25 pounds in only 10 weeks!"
Well, I'm convinced.

actually, theres a dispute over how many genes are in the human body..estimates range from 40,000 to 70,000..muscletech isnt that stupid anymore are they? im sure a multimillion dollar company is going to forget to pick up on something like that.
