I have used all 4 of Optimum’s newer flavors during the last 6 months, but neglected to write a review for any of them. So, I have decided to write a review for each of newer flavors in this review.

1 = downright horrible, wouldn’t drink it again even if I was on Fear Factor

My Review
Cost: 8/10
The cost is very good. It’s not the cheapest option on the market, but it is very economical. And as for what your getting for the price, it is well worth it.
Mixability: 9/10
One of the best that I’ve used to date. All flavors mixed quite similarly, so I saw no need to distinguish. Powder dissolved almost completely in either water or milk whether I was using a blender, shaker, or just a spoon.
Taste:
Rocky Road 10/10– This is the best flavor of protein that I have ever tasted so far, bar none. I should really give it an 11/10. I tend to prefer chocolate flavors, but this certainly beats all of them. It basically tastes like chocolate and marshmallow, somewhat similar to a delicious hot chocolate or a smores. I have read here that others have gotten sick of it after a while, but that was definitely not the case for me. In fact, I was practically licking the sides after I was finished and decided to keep the container for sentimental value. Seriously though, I’m glad to see ON now selling this flavor in 10 lb containers, I’ll definitely be ordering one when my current supply of protein runs out in 4 months.
Cookies N’ Cream 4/10 – I was extremely disappointed with this flavor. Such great potential that didn't even come close to my expectations. I was hoping for something resembling a DQ Blizzard, but got nothing near that kind of decadence. It was bearable in milk and very bad mixed with water. I suffered through the 5 lb container and would have traded it for some outdated Cell-Tech if given the chance. I will never buy this flavor again.
Choc Mint 8/10 – Now, I’m gong to start this out by saying that I’m not a particularly big fan of mint flavors. I do like junior mints (they’re quite refreshing ya know), but that’s where my affection for the combination of chocolate and mint ends. However, this flavor was great. The taste was even good in water, but excellent in milk. I don’t know if I could go through a 5 lb container in a month, but I would definitely enjoy it as a refreshing change of pace every so often.
Fruit Punch 3/10 – I don’t know what they were smoking at the ON R&D department with this one. Maybe I’m spoiled by having tried Syntrax Nectar over the summer, but this wasn’t tollerable for a fruity flavor. In fact, much like the old ON strawberry flavor, it reminded me of chuggin a bottle of Pepto Bismal. Actually, the Pepto might have been better. Double thumbs down.
Overall: 9/10
I love ON 100% whey. It’s a great product, that is sold for a reasonable cost, and from a extremely reliable producer. Although I obviously didn’t approve of all of the new flavors, their straight chocolate and rocky road remain 2 of my industry favorites, and the chocolate mint was surprisingly good too. For the price, it’s one of the best options out there.
Final Recommendations:
I would definitely recommend ON 100% Whey Gold Standard to anyone on this board without hesitation. Big surprise right, seeing how it's the #1 sold item here. But depending on your flavor preferences, I would stick to the ones that I just mentioned. But IMO, whoever formulated the rocky road flavor is a Golden God.
