A young pic of Sergio Oliva
My gym's got LOADS of old school pics of old school bodybuilders. I coult post many if I had the time (i took the pic with me phone).
But one of the pics that definately caught my eye was a young pic of sergio oliva.
I asked my gym owner how old he was, and he said he was in his early 20'3 (21-23).
The guy was definately a freak.

Yeah Sergio was what I consider the first mass monster. Definately massive. He started out as a powerlifter and then switched to bodybuilding. When he switched, he literally blew up. I don't know what it is, but Ive noticed that many guys that start out as powerlifters and then switch to bodybuilding have tremendous results! I think Ronnie Coleman was a powerlifter before turning to bodybuilding also, correct?

Correction. Oliva started out as an Olympic weightlifter.

WHy is there a poster of Ed Corney on the wall?
I don't think this pic is real... if it's a young Sergio... Then Corney could not have posed for a poster.
Something fishy there.

I think that pic was taken in the late 70's when Sergio was in the WBBG ( run by Dan Laurie.) That would put him in his late 30's early 40's. don't let that big shockof hair fool ya, Sergio was " wearing hair " long before Hair Club for men.
notice how his left tricp had been injured ( torn ) and that injury did not happen until the mid to late 70's

That first one was from 68 or 69. It was when Joe Weider was pushing Sergio to train for detail and felt he would be unbeatable.
I love those pics, were they taken in Cali or Daytona?

Read the first post, he stated that his gym has posters of bb's all over the walls.
