I agree I don't know why these people get so worked up about it. I am a Christian but I mean I wouldn't get mad if they put a big Happy Kwanza sign in the front of my office. WHO CARES?!?!?!?!?!
so Merry CHRISTMAS everyone.

If it looks like a Christmas tree, If it smells like a Christmas tree, It is still just festive shrubbery.

Completely agree. People just have no tolerance these days. Everyone acts like the world owes them something and if it won't pay up...then they'll sue to get what their "owed".

I'm a little sick of the politically correct b.s. these days. Trying to make everyone feel like we should recognize everyone elses holidays or forcing it on us. I'ts always has and always will be Christmas. Okay, so on tv, they have to say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas no big deal, but a Christmas tree is just that, a Christmas tree. I like watching the Price is Right because Bob Barker is always referring to it as Christmas instead of just holidays.
I got a good laugh the other day on urbandictionary.com looking up kwanzaa to find out exactly what it is.

It will always be Merry Christmas and a Christmas tree for me.
Yesterday as a matter of fact, I was checking out at a store and the guy behind the counter was wearing a turban, I'm not sure what nationality, but I looked him in the eye and said " Merry Christmas". If he didn't like it, **** him!

If you really want to get under peoples skin when they say Happy Holidays say Happy Christ's Birthday. If they say anything ask why they are being a religious bigot and disrespecting my religion or views. It always stops them in their tracks.

I've gotten used to saying Happy Holidays, but I will slit my own throat before I start calling it a Holiday Tree. Im old school, I still get a REAL Christmas tree also and I always will.

I'm not Christian, but i think it's ridiculous.
You don't go changing a tradition that's been followed dearly for years just because a few people have sand in their vaginas.

The word Christmas originated as Christ's Mass....
^ never realized that and thought it was interesting
It will always be Christmas tree to me even though the origins of the tradition are not related to the birth of Jesus.....

I think that there is some truth to what you are saying... but I think the main reason people are upset is because it just keeps getting worse.... People are becoming sick of this PC bullsh*( and are finally and maybe (prays with fingers crossed) gonna make a stand.

ahhh good point, and I agree to an extent. But you could also say the same thing about people who get soooo overly worked up about people saying "merry christmas" or call it a christmas tree.
So I agree some religious people may be overreacting, but it is overreacting IMO that started the whole thing. you see what I mean?

Yup. But I seriously doubt that the 'holiday tree' thing is so widespread that people have to come out in force to fight it. Seems like everyone is talking about it nowadays...IMO it only aggravates the problem.
For the record, PC is bull****.

A few years ago the city counsel of Toronto decided to name the big Christmas tree, that is outside city hall, a "holiday tree". It was preally unprovoked as there was absolutely no public request to rename the tree. There was quite a bit of public outcry about the name change.
I don't know many people with athiest or agnostic viewpoints who really care what things are called. Most are just grateful they get a day off work and get to eat and drink a lot.
