Use of the Sauna?

In my quest to lose some fat around my waist... I want to gain all the knowledge I can.

A friend of mine suggested the use of a sauna, which according to him - evaporates body water - which.. visually kinda acts like fat...
it basically overs up muscle......

is this anywhere near accurate?

I searched online about sauna benefits.... but prety much every website i found and read... was.. well.. no help.

Anyone have opinions or knowledge about saunas?
Should i bother using one? How often? How long?

sauna=losing water weight=useless=dehydration=pointless(unless you are trying to make weight for a fight or competition)

sauna=bad

friend=uneducated

sure anyone can sweat out 10 pounds...but you are only losing water

lift weights and eat right
throw in some cardio

it is harder than sitting in the sauna, but actually works

Dehydration slows fat loss. But losing a couple pounds of water before a photoshoot or something can help. Should only be used for peaking.

I wouldn't say that the sauna is bad, it just can't be a means of long-term weight loss. If you use the sauna, just replace the water through drinking. I think it's great for sore muscles or or loosen up.

Might want to look into a Far Infrared sauna. Just started using one myself.
