greatest poser?
who do u think is the greatest poser in the the history of bodybuilding?
after all if u cant pose, then ur not showin ur body to its best and could lose a comp even though u might have the best body on stage.
i would say bodybuilders like edd corny and darrem charles are defo up there and i know there must be many more, whats ur opinion?

You're just naming corney caus he was in pumping iron
I'd say levrone is one of the top posers.

Best classical poser - Ed Corney
Most innovative - Vince Taylor
Worst - Paul Dillet (I nearly cried having to watch his routine at the 99 O when he voiced the lyrics to the song while pulling the worst "archer" pose of all time)

I liked flex the most, but arnold was a very good techincal poser, always disguiseing his wide waist. I'm sure if he only showed select poses you'd never know how wide his waist was.

arnold was the most cerebral andrealy i would say was a pioneer of that type of posing and showmanship....every pose he did had a purpose, there was no wasted movement, same with corney...........id say of later years lee haney was definitly a dramatic poser......new age i would say melvin anthony and darrem charles

I really liked a couple of Gunter's poses from this year's O, but I'd say Zane overall.

i personally feel melvin is overrated. too much theatrics and he does the same schtick comp after comp. i think levrone, shawn ray and wheeler were fantastic. vince taylor, fank zane and corney definately are worth mentioning also. and agreed - worst ever was paul dillett. in 99, he looked like he was going to die..

Definetly worthy of a mention. He really knew how to hide his flaws and highlight his strengths.

Ed Corney . . . and why
Like many of you, I too have only seen small snippets of Ed "in action", as well as a lot of still photos of his posing . . . I guess I base my opinion on asking the people who were there and who actually saw him do "his thing" . . . and I'm NOT referring to Arnold's comments in Pumping Iron . . . because honestly, that cutaway in the movie always annoyed me, I'd much rather see more of the Olympia prejudging than see Arnold's reaction shots . . .
Since starting Ed's website, I have heard from MANY who were lucky enough to see his posing routines during the prime of his career. Here's Reg Park on Ed's routine at the 1977 Olympia: "Never before in my long bodybuilding life have I witnessed similar spontaneous audience reaction" At one point during Corney's presentation he thought the audience would storm the stage. "Can you believe four thousand excited people on their feet screaming Cor-nee, Cor-nee, Cor-nee? I tell you it was downright frightening".
Just a few weeks ago I spoke with Danny Padilla and this is what he had to say: "Every time Eddie did a routine he got a standing ovation. All of us get a standing ovation maybe once in our career . . . but boy, Eddie got a standing ovation every time he posed. Eddie was 'the man' when it came to that."
Ed recently told me that he developed his routine up to the point where he would do five minutes without repeating a single pose. He would practice for hours a day, months prior to a competition.
At the Masters' Olympia he got a five minute standing ovation at the Pre-Judging (it wasn't even the night show!) . . . so I guess, like many who weren't there, I defer to those that witnessed his performances.
I think it's also worth mentioning that the little bit of Ed's posing that they did leave in the final cut of the "Pumping Iron" movie is so majestic and amazing that even though the sequences are so abbreviated, they have left an impression on so many of us for so many years.

are you serious?
i really don't like the way Ronnie holds most of his poses, IMO I think he could really display his body much better by changing the way he does his side chest and front lat poses.
but his routine...i dunno, i guess if you like that sort of thing.
never seen Haney's routine.

I will say melvin anthony and shawn ray are up there on the list. i personally can't stand to watch arnold pose. i think his posing routines were horrible. to me his routine had no flow. i mean don't get me wrong, he is one of the best of all time. i just don't like to watch him pose.
