Constant jammed fingers...
Im constantly jamming my fingers, whether it be playing around with friends, or in a serious enviorment. I dont wear anything on my hands when I am doing sports, except boxing (of course). The problem I keep on getting is jammed fingers, I think its a jam, I always get it on my thumb, and one other finger. Whether it be from playing volleyball or football I seem to get it, and sometimes it will hurt anywhere from 2 weeks - a few months. I had an x-ray the first time where it was bad for about 3 months, then healed, but there were no broken bones or anything. What is a good way to prevent this, im also having problems with my little toe on both of my feet.

The first steps to treating such an injury is icing and elevating the finger. Ice the injury for 15 minutes and then remove the ice until the finger temperature returns to normal. Then repeat the process. After the swelling decreases and the pain subsides, you should try to move the finger very slightly. If the injury is mild, you will be able to move with little discomfort over a short time. If, however, the finger doesn't move easily or the pain gets worse, you should see a physician and have an x-ray to determine if there is a bone fracture.
Most jammed fingers heal completely if there is no fracture or dislocation. If the jam results in a fracture or dislocation, it can take month to heal completely. Pain may linger for months and the injured joint may always be slightly larger than those of uninjured fingers. Starting rehab finger exercises as soon as possible is the best way to help the finger heal completely

I used to jam my fingers a lot too when I was in 10th grade. In fact I jammed 3 fingers REAL bad that swole up for weeks. I guess the only advice I can give you is to just get better at whatever sport you're jamming your fingers in.

Well I dont get jammed fingers for my good fingers... In the past a few years ago I messed up (jammed really bad, maybe tore something?) in a few of my fingers. I had x-ray's etc... and it came back negative, but it healed completely, and now out of the blue I will be doing something and injure the same exact fingers. There are about 2-3 fingers which were hurt in the past that get jammed alot.
Also for my small toe on both feet (worse on the left one) they hurt really bad, and they are kinda curled up. It feels pretty painful, I think its because im always banging them on something, what can I do to alleviate the pain, maybe stretch them from not getting curled up ?

Have you ever heard of buddy taping toes? Tape your little toe to the next toe before you play sports.

I got plenty of athletic tape, the problem with that is...would it slow me down. I like to be comfortable when I run, and if just one thing is wrong I cant get in my groove. Taping two toes together might mess up my running maybe? Would it be the same effect if I just taped that single toe with athletic tape, same with my fingers?

There is nothing a person can do to avoid jamming fingers. As for toes, an unrealistic suggestion is steel toed boots. Injuries are unavoidable
