More info on Eddie
More Notes On Eddie Guerrero's Death
Submitted by Daniel Pena on Sunday, November 13, 2005 at 12:58 PM EST
Here are some more details coming out in regards to Eddie Guerrero's premature passing.
Eddie was staying at the Marriott City Center hotel in downtown Minneapolis. He had an early wake-up call shortly after 7:00 a.m. local time. Eddie didn't answer the door. He was traveling with Chavo Guerrero, who called the room and couldn't get an answer. When several knocks on his hotel room door went unanswered, security got the door open and Eddie was found dead in the bathroom. The police were quickly called at around 7:30 a.m. local time. Attempts were made to revive him, but they couldn't summon Eddie back to life.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guess that hints on a drug overdose then?

Not necessarily, it may have been a heart attack or something similar...

TNA Mourns The Passing Of Eddie Guerrero News
November 13th, 2005 12:14
TNA JOINS THE WRESTLING WORLD IN MOURNING THE PASSING OF EDDIE GUERRERO
On Sunday morning, TNA joined the wrestling world in learning of the unfortunate and untimely passing of Eddie Guerrero.
The mood backstage in Orlando is solemn, as many TNA staff and stars were close with Eddie and worked with him throughout his career.
Everyone in TNA will keep Eddie and his family in our thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks to come as we say goodbye to a friend...

Pretty Ironic isn't it??
ROCK BOTTOM
Although Guerrero was wrestling against the likes of Steve Austin, The Rock, Kurt Angle, Edge, Christian, and others, he was also dealing with his substance abuse problems. His wife had left him and taken their daughters and his professional life was about to join his personal life in a tailspin.
After arriving at a show, which as sad irony would have it, was in Minneapolis, in no condition to wrestle, Guerrero was sent home. He learned later that it was his own friends, Malenko and Benoit, that had stooged off his condition to WWF management in an attempt to help him. Malenko commented on the UPN Guerrero special that he did it because he “didn't want to be one of those wrestlers that gets to an arena and finds out that one of his best friends was found dead in his hotel room.”

IT could be a number of things. Heart problems due to past drug experiences. Or maybe complications caused by normal over the counter supplements that triggered a pre-existing condition. Given Eddie's past, and the lifestyles that pro wrestlers have to endure, plus an unknown medical history, it could be a hundred different things. We'll know soon enough. I'd like to think it wasn't a drug overdose and that he'd kicked that stuff forever.

That's great how we can put company preferences aside for awhile and all come together to pay tribute to one of the greatest in the business ever. That's very bold and respectful of TNA to post that. And thanks, Das Cool, for keeping us updated.

No clue.. The press conference was held a couple hours ago now. But I'm sure they have a lot to deal with right now before they can make it available on the website... I just keep refreshing WWE.com every 10 minutes.

This really sucks. This is probably the most unexpected wrestling death ever, since from as far as I know he has been clean for a long while now. It just amazes me Scott Hall and Jake Roberts, who abused drugs and drink more than just about anyone, are still alive when others drop dead. Not that I want either man dead, especially since Jake is a legend to me, but you gotta notice the irony in that situation.
This really sucks. I was watching the rumble earlier and Eddie is comedy gold, especially when he stole Flair's wallet. I hope when he died he was clean...it wouldnt matter now that he is dead but at least he managed to keep his demons at bay, and if we can take one good thing from this, lets be greatful Eddie got his moment at the summit of the mountain of his dreams, which not many people in life can say. For one brief, shining moment, he conquered his demons and was at the pinnical of his career.
He lied. He cheated. He stole. And he will be missed. But not forgotten.

Geez...I just check the forums for the first time today, and I see all of these threads about Eddie. I had no idea, and as it has been said already, never would have expected it at all. I'm truly speechless.
R.I.P. Eddie...you will be missed.

The article in The Sun said he is reported to have died with his toothbrush in his mouth, a heart attack or something sounds most likely.

This is the first time I logged onto the computer since Friday afternoon. I was getting a hot plate from the chow line and I heard one of my buddies saying that he heard Eddie Guerrero died.... I was like; "Yeah right" I thought he was joking around since the Survivor Series tour comes here in Italy all this week.
But of course I head right over to WWE.com and read that headline & my jaw dropped!! I still can't believe it. Any loss is tragic, but this one really shocked me.

That sucks he had to die on my birthday. I don't think it was an OD because there are reports going around that he died while brushing his teeth. I don't think he'd be brushing his teeth after taking a ton of drugs, but I guess I could be wrong.

I can't believe it!
I can't believe it! He seemed fine; he was an active member of the roster, wrestling big matches often...most of the other wrestlers who have died recently -- Mr. Perfect, Road Warrior Hawk for example -- didn't do much/have much success at the time they died, so I just figured that they succumbed to drinking and drugs to deal with depression and stuff. But Eddie, Eddie has been a "big name" again for a while now! Unbelievable.
