Del Toro writes FLEX
Don't know if anyone here picked up the issue of FLEX this month with Darrem on the cover, but anyway, in their Talk Back section, some dude wrote about how they should bring the Olympia to Houston b/c that's where the reigning champ is from. Funny thing about it was at the end, the guy signed his name Nicholas Del Toro. I wonder if FLEX would talk sh*t to him?

Joe Weider and his advisers shouldn't have made Las Vegas the permanent home for the Mr. Olympia contest. I don't see the point of making a few people fly to the desert to see the show when there's a few hundred thousand people wishing they could just take the loop [the highway system in Houston, Texas] to see it. Mr. Olympia isn't even from Nevada; he's from Texas. Why do you think he keeps coming back to Texas after winning Olympias? Because he's damn proud to be a Texan. My point is that I can't afford a plane ticket and weekend in Las Vegas to see the show, but I could afford to see it if it came to Houston. Houston-now that's a name to go with the Mr. Olympia Weekend. We are about 1.5 million Olympia fans larger than Vegas with everything but the Olympia taking place in the enormous George R. Brown Convention Center right in the middle of beautiful downtown. Also downtown are two-state-of-the-art stadiums geared for packing in thousands of fans, no matter the sport. With the best hotels and most fans around, it just makes sense for the biggest show in bodybuilding to come to the biggest city in Texas. And if it does, then "what happens in Houston should definately stay in Houston."
