notre dame > usc
Seriously, could the refs have given usc any more second chances to win that game? First of all they put time back on the clock after usc officially lost the game, then they didn't call a penalty when bush was pushing leinhart into the endzone.
Notre Dame showed what they're made of tonight, I don't care what the score says; they're one heck of a football team. USC is great as well, but showed their vulnerability.

I wanted notre dame to win, but you know that bush was allowed to push Leinart in right? There is nothing that says you cannot push another player from the same team forward.

actually there is a rule that says u cant push or pull another player to gai yards but it is never enforced.....it is actually a 5 yard penalty

Well it is NEVER called then...because you always see linemen pushing the pile, or the fullback helping the runningback, the refs dont care to enforce it so it pretty much is non existent.

A great game played by two great teams coached by the two best coaches in the college ranks. There were bad calls on both sides of the field. All the calls on the last drive were perfect. Destiny won out with that 4th and 9 USC play for 61 yards on the last drive. Class showed when Coach Weis visited the USC locker room after the game (USC showed class by shhhh'ing themselves into total silence while he spoke) and congradulated them all on their win and wished them well towards an undefeated season.
Now don't you think that next years game in LaLa Land will be rather exciting. Notre Dame will be seasoned and pissed. Weis will be dead on fantastic. USC keeps 90% of this team....ouch!! Mark Snachez, arguably the best quarterback ever recruited by USC will be suited up....pant pant....I gotta get tickets!!

I was really rooting for the Irish. They are pretty much the only team that could have beaten USC this year (in the regular season)

Not so fast. They still have UCLA and Cal (the last team to beat them, back in 2003 in triple overtime).

as a huge irish fan i was sick to my stomach on that one... i blame the players...you do not let them have a 61 yard play on fourth and nine i knew it was over then...They have played well so far this year and i hope they win out they deserve a good year and a shot at a BCS game

I'm still pissed off about that game. I can't argue with any calls at the end, because they were right on, but when the clock hit zero, I though it was over. People were running on the field, and I could relax again knowing my Irish had done it.
Then 7 seconds went back on the clock with the ball on the 0.000002 yard line. It was a tough pill to swallow.
Hats off to Leinhart and Bush and the rest of the team. They played like true national champions.
I will say that I'm pretty stoked about the Irish under Weis. In a few years when he's got his own recruits in its gonna be National Championship time again for the Irish.
Its hard being a Notre Dame fan, living in Alabama and all, but its a lot easier when they're a damn good team.

how is adding time onto the clock giving usc another chance. leinart fumbled the ball and it rolled out of bounds with time left. the clock should have been stopped but it wasnt

I was hoping Iowa would get the chance to beat them, but that's obviously not gonna happen this year, so I'm rooting for whoever plays them.
As for Iowa, I'll settle for another Co-Big Ten-Championship, and another Jan. 1st Bowl win.

eh, either way notre dame let them get the 60 yard pass play on 4th down. I don't think notre dame is better than usc at all. Both teams had a lot of lucky things happen to them during that dame.
Notre dame had everything going for them, the game was at home, they had an extra week to prepare, etc. they had everything going in their favor and couldn't win.

Cal will not beat USC this year...
My Beavs just stomped on CAL the entire game this weekend. They are not what they were last year...
