Sauna

I wasn't sure where else to post this.

I have an extra layer of body fat that seems to be keeping me from getting the cut/six pack look. I am probably right at the 12 to 14% and want to get to the 8 to 10% range.

I eat very healthy, lift hard 4 days a week, the other 3 I play some basketball. I decided that I needed to get the water out of my body. So I have cut my sodium down big and have tried the sauna.

I was told tonight that if I do not drink water while in the sauna, and then wait up until 30 min after leaving the sauna to not drink water, it is more beneficial. I have never heard this before, and if it is true, I am all aboard. If it is not true or harmful, I want to make sure to drink plenty of water.

If anyone knows if the drinking water myth in a sauna is true or not, let me know.

Thanks!

The sauna is only ever going to have a very temporary effect on the amount of water you are carrying. The best way to get rid of excess water is to drink more water in general dude, drink it before during or after your sauna, it isn't going to make much difference.

and btw you couldn't work out where to post this so you chose the "exercise" forum?? lol

I already drink around 2 gallons of water a day. So I am trying something different to get rid of the last layers of fat.

Where else should I post this? The only other section I could think of was Misc., and usually it is about some Owl picture or something.

Well if you want to get rid of fat you need to adjust your diet and cardio - fat and water are two different matters - a sauna won't help you gt rid of fat. Maybe if you get really stuck you could use a thermogenic for a boost.

try the losing fat forum for better advice dude
