Working @ KFC
Hi everyone.
I'm working at kfc for about 40hrs a week, which means that for about 5 days a week, for some 8 hours I can eat pretty much all I want from the meniu.
Now I know that KFC and other fast foods are bad for you, so I try to eat the absolute healtiehst choices that we have.
I eat the Tender Roast filet, which is unbreaded and baked. Now, the KFC website does not have accurate nutritional info for it, but the TDR sandwich w/o sause has the following:
Cals: 260; 5g of fat; 23g carbs; 31g protein. Now please keep in mind, that I do not consume the bun. I ussualy eat it with a salad with tomatoes etc. or just by itself.
Another choice would be fried chicken breat w/o skin or breading.
Nutritional info: 140cals; 3g of fat; 11g of carbs; 40g protein.
I ussualy tend to eating the TDR more then the breast, since it doens seem so greasy and its not fried.
I have the following choices for sides: mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, white rice, mac&cheese, corn.
I was wondering what you guys think my best choices for food would be? I'm tending towards TDR with green beans & rice. I also try to bring in home-made protein bar to work, but I need more calories since I'm on a clean bulking cycle now. At home I eat clean, but work remains a problem..
My stats: age 22, 6.0, 162lbs.

Hm.. interesting responses Now I don't feel that bad off working there.
What would be a good choice for carbs though? Green beans, white rice, sweet corn or mashed potatoes?

Just curious, where do the 11g of carbs come from in the chicken breast w/o skin/breading?
And depending on how the white rice is prepared, you could go for that too.

I think your in trouble. Unless you have the best self control ever. Your going to get sick of eating the same "healthy" choices one day and just let loose on everything else. I mean we're not in the same predicament as you so it's easy for us to say eat this eat that, avoid this avoid that.

Best choice would be the roasted fillet..whatever that is. But at least it's not fried.
Or maybe the roasted chicken salads they have.
Carbs.. Greenbeans and Corn would be your best bet.Mashed potatoes every now and then if you don't mind whatever else is in them.

Same as any other fast food product....They add things like yeast, corn syrup solids, maltrodextrin, dextrose, sugar, corn starch..ect. To flavor it and preserve it. They like inject it into the chicken.
