Rey Mysterio Dissapointed With His ECW Match
In a recent interview with the UK’s Sun newspaper, Rey Mysterio revealed that he was disappointed with his match he had at the ECW “One Night Stand” pay-per-view against Psicosis.
"I wish I came more prepared for that bout. The fans came to see an ECW match and I let them down," Mysterio said. "They wanted to see Rey Mysterio Jr. doing the moves he did back in ECW, not the 619. If there is a second ECW PPV, I'm going to give the fans exactly what they saw in 1998 and 1999."
Mysterio was then questioned as to TNA needs to incorporate more psychology into the in-ring product. "They need to control the excitement and leave people wanting to come back and see more," Mysterio said about the X Division. "You've got to have a distinguished character for the fans to realize who you are. Once you've done that, you can go out there and bust out all your moves... Some of the cruiserweights still don't get that."
Concerning psychology in TNA, Rey hit this nail so far and hard on the fuccking head that it wen through the board. This is the same **** i lamented many moons ago about AJ STyles. He's an excellenti nring performer but has zero psychology so i stopped watching him. I remember watching him in a high paced match and being bored stiff. yet wondering how could that be possible.

Good read. I agree with all the TNA talk, and about his performance at ECW ONS. But he was in WCW from 98-99, not ECW.

A.J. knows how to bring the psychology, trust me.
It's just that when you only have so many minutes to work with on a TNA show there is only so much you can do.

In my opinion, AJ has plenty of psychology, but touching basis on what Lion Heart said, there is only so much time to work. Though he does a lot of high flying he does his fair amount of actual ring work. AJ Styles has everything working for him except for the promo part of it.
Other then this, I enjoyed the read. I love Mysterio more and more everyday.

Rey is wrong about the psychology. The reason he is saying that is because he's older now and more beat up. He can't do what he used to do. AJ Styles does use psychology, maybe not as much as a guy like benoit or Angle, but who does? Go and take a look at the Halloween havoc match between Rey Rey and Eddie. They were flying around the ring, or one of his matches against Psychosis in ECW, and tell me they weren't going nuts in the ring and had psychology. Also, AJ Styles' "lack of in ring psychology" can be blamed on him working in the indy circuts for so long. He doesn't have the WWE to back him with weeks of programming to set up a feud and money to be comfortable to live with without going nuts every match like Rey does. AJ Styles has spent most of his time wrestling working in smaller promotions trying to fill gymnasiums. And the way you do that is by word of mouth. If he went out and had a 15/20 min match filled with high spots and all that amazing stuff that he does, you can bet your ass people will be telling their friends about it and they will be going to see him again.
