Dormitory or Family?

I will be living in Spain for a year, next September. I can stay with a family, live in a dormitory on campus, or I might be able to do both.

Has anyone does this that could share some light on what it is like, and what they did/would have liked to have done?

dorms are good for making friends and such... depends on how social you are/want to be

there family but you dont want to bother them too much ie) your special diet because your a bodybuilder and going out at nights, maybe there not used to it and well the "were going to stay up until you get home ****"

The main thing keeping me from going the dorm route is becoming as immersed in the culture as possible. I want to become completely fluent in Spanish and its culture, so I just thought staying with an actual family would allow me to see the culture and practices a bit better.
