Thank you brother, and remember to pray as well in Ramadan, as fast will not be accepted with no prayers. Not only in Ramadan but on ordinary days too.

Physical gains are easy to attain. Spiritual gains arent.
It is possible to maintain size and not lose alot during ramadan. Ive been doing it for years.
It's really sad that peoples lives revolve around bodybuilding and whether theyre in a catabolic or anabolic state. There is life outside bodybuilding.
Daytime catabolism during ramadan makes it all worthwhile

well basically i try and get in 5 or so meals after i break my fast, i find i can get alot of protein in, even after sunset. Through my own experiences, ive learnt it's possible to not lose a great deal of muscle provided you keep a good diet. It's not like youre fasting for a year, it's a month, your body will survive, if you plan it right you wont lose all your muscle. If you lose any, it's probably not even that noticeable.
Years ago i used to lose 10 kg regularly in ramadan, thats alot. After fixing up my diet, i stay at the same weight or lose a little bit. nothing noticeable, and i still train at night.
PM if you want details, i dont want to take away from this thread.

May Allah bless all of you, its good to hear Muslims brothers are taking there religion more seriousley than BB. I mean u can BB but religion is far important well to us muslims it is. Because I know some ppl in my area who are BB instead of fasting its really a shame. But none the less may Allah make fasting easy for you.

Technically smoking is never allowed, but it does break your fast so avoid it during the day.

Eat a heavy suhoor (predawn meal) and work out in the morning. That's what I do.

I prefer to eat 6 meals a day. Heavy predawn, then 5 more after sunset. And workout inbetween meals 3 and 4.

Sorry, bad advice. That should have read:
Fulfill your obligations in Ramadan to the best of your abilities
Fill your time with the worship of God
put your trust in God
and THEN
Eat a heavy suhoor (predawn meal) and work out in the morning,

And BTW, for you Muslims living in foreign lands, fasting is more difficult for you and Insha'Allah you will compensated for it
Ramadhan here is much easier - all restaurants are closed and people aren't allowed to eat in public... Ramadhan timings are exact and we have a plethora of mosques for Taraweeh...

so what time exactly does the fasting start, when you start seeing the first rays of of the sun, before fajr
and as you all might know when the body hasnt had any food for some time you may get a bad odor in your mouth from the lack of food and water, how do you fight this? is it permissible to use a mouthwash or something?

Ive spent most of my life fasting ramadan in Australia's summer time. 30+ degree heat, daylight saving hours, sunset is at 7 or 8pm , fasting 14 hour days ... good times good times
Here's another important piece of advice, i come from an arab background, and onething ive noticed, is that arab's love filling their bellies during ramadan They completely fill the table with food, and you really cant eat that much, some people even spend hours preparing food.
Just remember ramadan is not about how big the feast is after sunset. Food should be irrelevant, we should seek to increase in our worship and spirituality, purifying our hearts, praying, reading Quran and making dhikr. I have a subha that i bought with me from Hajj, it has 500 beads on it I intend to wear those beads out in ramadan
Make sure you make plenty of dhikr, not just in ramadan but always. It's really not hard to say, La Illaha Ilallah or Subhanallah or ulhumdullilah etc etc, when youre sitting there doing nothing. These 3 simple words offer immense blessings, and dont forget to say prayers on our Prophet (pbuh). If we bless him one time, Allah blesses us 10 times.
Salaam.

Fasting starts after Fajr prayer (check your local timings) and ends on Magrib prayers.
You are allowed to use mouthwash as long as you don't swallow it

Completely agree - I make it a habit not to eat excessively in Ramadhan.
Great advice, thanks brother.
