NO boosters and Pre-workout Meals

Hi everyone, for my first ever post here I have to ask. I've searched and browsed around for topics on NO boosters , anyway, my question:

What is the best way to do this:

1) take your Superpump or NO Explode before your workout and have your protein shake/MRP afterwards?

2) Take your Protein Shake/MRP, wait an hour or so take NO booster and workout. and have another post workout Meal?

I've tried number 2 once but it gave the ****s like crazy afterwards. I guess I'm worried that by not having a pre-workout meal, it will slow my progress. but maybe sacrifising the meal for the NO booster which gives me tons of energy and mental focus as well as great pumps which altogether means a better overall workout. Then I'll just have my protein/Carb/EFA shake afterwards.

What do you all do? Also, I'm a textbook ectomorph. 5'10, 145, 10% bf. I'd love to see 160 some day. I'm 25 and pretty new to bodybuilding, but I think its starting to turn into a passion. oh oh!

Thanks guys and gals,

Ken

Welcome Ken. You should get some good feedback on your question. Being an ecto would be reason enough to make sure you get a good pre w/o meal in. That is by far more important that taking a NO product pre w/o. You can and should be able to do both however. As you stated, drink your pre w/o shake (try 90 minutes prior to w/o), then take the NO prodcut of your choice.

I'd also suggest you use the search function for NO products. You seem to have chose the most expensive out on the market. There are many good NO products out there. If you've never tried any, I'd suggest starting with some more affordable products. Good luck to you in your new found passion of BB. <img src="images/smilies/biggrin.gif">

Thanks for the advice, viper. I'll try my pre-workout meal 90 min before like you said, than take my superpump. the stuff is expensive ($50 a tub) but I respond very well to just one scoop and working out 3 days a week at that rate means it will last me for over 3 months. Plus I had to try the new orange flavor But yeah down the road I will try the others. oh yeah, I had another question. now, should I take creatine as well, or is it not necessary when using an NO product. or is better always have your muscles loaded with creatine?

Between those 2 options, I would go with #2... for your other issue, try getting more solid foods.

creatine is a staple supplement in most bb's plans. I highly suggest you look into some as well. Read the Creatine thread sticky when you get a chance, but you will love the supplement.

I've actually been taking (loading) with Phosphagen HP for last few days, I'm hoping it will help me. I just took 2 weeks off from a 12 week mass gaining program. I didn't gain as much as I'd liked but who does. I gained a couple good solid pounds, but I want to do better this time, be more consistent with my diet and keep strict form in the gym. I didn't use creatine the first time around, just the NO booster with no pre workout meal. This time I'm using creatine, won't skip my preworkout meal, hopefully I'll see some gains. that is if I eat well enough and sleep enough. those are the hardest things. working out is the easy part! well not that easy.

I used Phosphagen HP years ago. A couple things you should notice within the first week:

1. Slight weight gain from water retention in the muscles from creatine.

2. Strength gain from the creatine. 10-25 lbs on your bench press is common place.

Go to the Nutrition forums and Fat Loss forums for some good threads on eating, diets, calories, etc. Everyone says diet is like 80% the battle and I believe it.
