any1 here a physician assistant or know 1?
in my frosh year of majoring in pre-professional biology and i dont really think i wanna go to med school now cuz of how long it takes to get through it (med school, internships, residency)
so as of now im planning on goin to a pa program after i get my bachelors degree
ive looked around and saw diff sights saying a pa's salary is 50k and others say 80k....i know it matters where u live but a 30k diff,
whats your salary as a pa or sum1 who u know that is 1
also do they get lots of benefits or perks

don't look at salaries and figures. do what you want to do and what makes you happy... so what if it takes you 15 years to become a doc? if you start at 18, you'll be 33 and a medical professional whose opinion actually counts...

It depends on the job, but i would say its closer to 70 - 90,000 based on what some of my friends are doing.. You can also do more training to do a more specialized area (like neonatal) and make more..I know neo-natal PA's make 100 - 120,000+..

neo-natal is basically caring for babies right after they are born..
A good thing about PA's is that you can write scripts, you do most of the generally easy treatments, you get paid good and you dont have to have malpractice insurance (although a few do)..
Yes, you can "specialize" but you have to do a residency (~1 yr. BUT depends on the program)
