Progress too much progress
Recovery Goal - 150 pounds
Highest weight 260 pounds
Lowest weight currently 121 pounds
6ft 2
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ee/changes.jpg
It all began as a simple diet I'd always been a big tall(6ft2 )girl, at my biggest weight of 115kilos, I decided I gotta do sumthing. I lost around 25-30kilos over a course of 2 years did it really sensibly with healthy eating genereally just cut out all junk that combined with my netball and all my school team sports and walkin i maintained my weight. I felt and looked fantastic even if i was still chubby.
After I left school I lost alot of my friends, then got work as a kitchenhand 3days a week and also a waitress at a local chinese resturant .Also been selected to play state level netball. So at this point my life was completely different and full on totally different to the daily rountine of school.
With my netball team I always felt very self concious as I was the biggest in the team and we had to wear skin tight body suits ARGGH!. About halfway during april 2004, I started losing a little weight because of the extra training and work .I thought it was great ,I dont know what triggered me really but for some reason I wanted to lose more so I cut out dinner completely.
At first the hunger drove me insane but I fought it off with cup after cup of black tea and eventually I didnt miss it.I became a moody and snappy , it was a game seeing how little I culd eat.
Eventually I cut out lunch as well so my regualr day was this:
up at 6:45am
2 optislim weightloss tablets
30 grams of cereal with sweetner watered down skim milk
walked to work 1/2hour
worked 6-7hours on my feet all day
walked home 1/2hr
either training or a shift at the resturant
Preety full on day and I was sumhow managing to do that on a bowl of cereal!? At this point my weight was still healthy I thought I was happy with this but now I realise your never happy with this disease you just keep going. I thoguht I better keep this up if I want stay like this ,continued with just the cereal for about 3 weeks. But slowly it affected everything I had to call in sick for work because I was so tired and energyless. I just couldn't do it. But the most dissapointing thing that it affected was my netball ,I couldnt do outdoor training when we had it,I was simply to cold , I was so cold my lips were blue even though I had on layer after layer of thermal clothing. I jus culdnt get warm , mum and I left training in tears most nights struggling to walk .
I told the coach I was sick with the flu but as time went on, they could tell when they saw me in my body suit , one game in particular where everyone had come to watchME play but playng a game of full on netball with only cereal just doesnt work .I couldn't even control my body and I was tripping over my own player. I felt like the biggest let down I knew I had to eat more so started lunch again (2-3 cruskits with lettuce and salsa)in hope that I could play netball again for an up and coming 3 day gala but no I culdnt face the cold weather in my outfit and layed around watching my team play while I sat covered in blankets .
After that weekend I tried to eat 3 meals a day, but I was still eating under 500 cals a day . I guess one that pushed me was people kept saying "omg look at you ,lost so much weight you look amazing!" . Mum was worried and was tryng like mad to get me to a dietician, but couldnt get one for 2months. But mum had a friend who got me to a doctor they weighed me and talked to me and mum for a while and had to come back on the Monday (2 days after seeing her) to meet Denise my dietician, When monday came around once again I was weighed and I had dropped two kilos over a period of 2 days.
I was admitted to the adolesants ward at my hospital all that happened on my mums birthday , I felt shocking about that . Two days into being admitted I was told that they wuld insert feeds into me via a tube threw my nose and they would feed me with a weight gain formula. I reacted badly to this and didnt eat a thing from 8-7-04 til 13-7-04 on the 13th I got weighed, my weight had dropped.
Inside I was a complete wreak I had lost over 20 kilos in 8 weeks my body was fighting hard to keep my organs running my heart was beating 28-30 times a minute wear as the normal being 60-70. My periods stopped,my bones jutted out everwere.
------------------------------
It's since been a year since leaving hospital and I'm lower then ever and I'm fighting it for myself this time and I WANT to beat it this.

Good job on losing the weight, however, don't go the other direction. You look a little bony in that last picture. I'm not trying to flame, I just know what it's like to be obsessed with something and end up taking it too far.

Good job so far, but if the situation was reversed i would take the nutritional advice and try and gain a good 10-15 pounds of lean muscle in year or two.

Just remember that your health is more important than your weight. It seems like youre on the right track working with a dietician... once you start eating healthy again for a good period of time, I'm sure you'll find a happy area where you'll want to stay. Good luck.

Wow. You've been through a lot and you're still here, still working toward your goals. That's a huge victory by itself.
I'm inspired and I know that between a dietician and the good advice/support you'll get here, that you'll definitely get to your goal weight and feel great. Even though you're way too thin in them, you're very charming in the pictures because you're making such cheeky expressions. That spirit is part of what will get you through everything. The combination of a warrior spirit and an ever-present sense of humor have gotten me through my own health problems.
I'd also recommend talking to someone (hopefully a professional) about your emotions. Your feelings about your body are just as important as the food issues a dietician will deal with. Your self image will probably be tested and continually re-evaluated on your path (mine was and is), so you need someone to help you manage that.

I have to commemerate you on sticking with it, and also acknowleging you have (or had) a problem. Slowly up your calorie intake, eat a good 6 meals a day. You looked good in that picture of you wearing that dress, and the second last one. 150 lbs for 6'2" seems reasonable. Keep working at it.

It must have taken a lot to come out like this and really tell a lot of people about your problems. I commend you on that! Stay with a routine, and be consistent, you'll be back at a healthy weight. You have to remember to SLOWLY come back from this, and not overdo it at first. If you gain too much your body will not be able to handle it. Stay focused, and I'm sure if you need any help you can ask anyone on this forum.

just start overloading on protein and complex carbs. also lift. You should be able to gain a fair amount, remember muscle gain is what counts now though you will probabl want to get your body fat up. for a girl 12-20% is fairly normal and on the thin side.

Right now its more pyschological than anything and you need alot of support.. instead of just "add complex carbs, etc" ...there is an eating disorder sub forum here somewhere , if im not mistaken, so that may help... from your post you sound like you're in Aus... send me a msg if u want i may be able to help.. i was in your shoes once.

I to was once anorexic and even bulemic at one time. work with the dietician and set short term goals. like gaining lean muscle mass over a 2month period.
or just gaining a certain weight slowley. your body is probably begging for nutrients so dont overdue it. I gained 40lbs of muscle in 3 months and went from 2% at 129 to like 7% AT 167. now Im like 8 at 205. What keeps me going is dont weigh yourself on the scale. and dont look in the mirror 24/7 that mirror can play tricks. now that you can controll your diet just stay with complex carbs. efa's and lean sources of protein. before you know it you will look like a fitness model.

Ignorance! Did you even read her post? She can't go from eating 1-2 meals a day to 6 meals. That would take weeks. At this point, your main objective is slowly upping calories. Your story is inspiring as well as sad. I know girls that suffer from annorexia. The best thing you can do is to get people you love involved. Also, follow what the nutritionist says, even if you don't want to. Hope it all goes well for you!

wow I forgot to check back here. Thankyou all so much for your words and advice. Its not so much the fact I wont eat I have started to overcome the fear of food and my eating habits are incredibly healthy.
at first, it was just to cut out fried foods, etc. then, it became not to put anything with fat in it into my mouth (not incredibly healthy, but it was a mainly fruit/veggie/whole grain diet, so it wasn't bad). things then progressed through my full-fledged anorexia. I currently eat a diet of mainly yoghurt, tuna, vegetables, loads of egg whites, fruit and oats

Some of you are insane.
Seriously, theres been a few comments of "You look so great now, well done" and "Good work, I'd consider putting on a little weight if I were you"
Seriously, look at her arms, and especially in the last picture, her chest. Jesus.
Well done losing weight, even though you went at it the completely wrong way and could have died. I'm happy for you now, you sound like you're on the right track. Keep up the eating, try to get to 6 small meals a day and you will look like a fitness model.
Forget your scales, and dont look in a full length mirror. Get a small mirror to do your make-up or whatever for your face, and then just only look in the big mirror every 10 days.
Good luck

ur fat and you need to lose more weight, DUH ! may i suggest eating nothing and just drink water for as long as possible, i give you 40 days until death, some people can last 50, but you look weak so 40 will be your objective, remember you WANT to die. never give up. dont fall for that broccoli ! its a demon in disguise, the health it will bring you is false, because the true way for you to gain health is to stop eating the things that bring you health. ur a total n00b, i mean u haven even cut down to -10% body fat yet, geez, get a hold of ur self.

Jeezzz, some of you people are just freakin idiots. Do you not understand that we are not talking about something that is even a little bit jokable or funny.
Lan, Keep up the good work. I have no idea what you are going through, but I do know that it is recoverable. Listen to the dietician and ignore these idiots.
Best of Luck!

please come over to the female section of the forum. i know many of the women there are recovering from eating disorders and they would be GREAT help to you. i dont know if you already do, but you should be seeing a regular doctor- therapist and medical doctor- to help you along.
come over to the female section! post your story and you will get some great help for sure.

I was waiting for a comment like this I just tried to ignore the "i look great now comments" cause I know I look like walking death. I never wanted to be this way I didnt plan on becoming anorexic all I wanted to do was lose weight healhfully and for the first year and a half I did then somewhere along the line I noticed I got a certain level of respect from people ( well I thought) if I continued to lose and feared I would lose that power I had complete control over as for so long ( when I was obese) I NEVER had control or willpower. With my eating disorder now its a fear of the opposite extreme and not being able to see myself any other way then this.
