Why yawning during workout?

Hi all

whenever I work out i start yawning like there's no tomorrow. Does anyone know the reason?

(when I work out too hard i just almost collapse, turn white, get blurred vision, all the good stuff, but haven't puked yet and it doesn't happen very often anyway)

Is yawning a sign i might be working out too hard / not getting enough rest?

Before and after the workout i am not sleepy at all

thanks

the fact you get blurred vision is NOT a good sign

could be

-poor hydration/nutrition
-poor breathing
-something very wrong with your body

You might be holding your breath during reps. Do you also get headaches?

yawning is your bodies respose to not getting enough oxygen. I'd re-evaluate your breathing pattern during your lifts.

i've seen many Drs. one told me if i walk out on him i'd die on the spot hm 15 yrs ago i think... had to sign the waivers and all to get out

of course blurred vision is bad - i've gotten it only a couple of times over the years; some on my friends are ex-olympic gymnasts and they get it too - occasionally; btw, i asked them about the yawning and they could only think of poor ac / stuffy gym though - which is not the cause

$AJ, 4amworkouts: this might be it, i think I do hold my breath and it might be too much (didn't know this could make me sleepy) hydration is ok, but I am 'cutting up' and also eat most after working out / at night because eating too much during the day gets me sleepy and lazy...

thanks

proper breathing technique (e.g., benching) - inhale, lower the bar, touch chest, as you explode up you exhale. repeat. if it isn't like that, you're breathing wrong.

proper breathing technique is very important so make sure you have that down. But I wouldn't worry about the actual act of yawning. I yawn all the time.

LoL,loved the 'something very wrong with ur body bit'No **** Dr AJ
Sounds to me like it could be due to improper breathing technique when lifting,as everyone else has said.
