Seeing as WWE want to sign him that says a huge amount about the creative element in the WWE.

Yeah, and none of it good. I'd take RUSSO back at this point.

Dustys booking is what helped kill the greatest federation in the history of wrestling - the old NWA.

That's my point...with Vince holding his reigns he could probably do better than the crap we're getting now.

And I want to be married to Trish Stratus and Jessica Biel...but it ain't gonna happen, sadly. Steph seems to focus more on the fact that he is better than her at writing, and being jealous, rather than realising that good writing would enchance the product...but that's wwe for ya.

Update
http://www.rajah.com/base/2005/3920
“American Dream” Dusty Rhodes was a guest on this week’s WWE ByteThis! internet show and made some major announcements regarding his status and future with WWE:
- He is signed to a Legends contract and has verbally agreed to work with WWE’s Creative Team.
- He’s very close to signing on the dotted line and that “[officially] signing with WWE is just a formality”. He met with WWE’s current Creative Team and sees this as a great opportunity to work with the young minds at WWE and to contribute his own style and philosophies to the product.
- This is a chance for him to really see what’s going on in the industry. Dusty used a phrase which I read Jimmy Hart use on WWE.com, and that was - the future is the past. He thinks the business has evolved too much and things need to be brought back to basics. Today’s product shouldn’t be radically different than what it was 10 years ago - it should be an updated version of the basic principles that have stood for decades and made wrestling great. He spoke passionately about the business as a whole and that there are several things that need to be changed. He sounded excited at the opportunity to work with WWE in its current state, which clearly has a lot of work that needs to be done.
- Dusty spoke very highly of Stephanie, saying she is a lot like her father in her understanding of the business.
- This is an opportunity, some of which come later in life than others, to play again for the Yankees. The Yankees are the greatest franchise in the history of sports and World Wrestling Entertainment is the greatest company in the history of sports entertainment. WWE is a tremendous, huge company.
- One thing he wants to do before he retires is wrestle Ric Flair at a houseshow one more time. He said he didn’t care if it was only a 1-night thing, but he seemed to be very excited about the chance to face Flair before he officially retired.

It's the beginning of the end for WWE if they make him a booker. It's in bad enough shape that they don't need his horrible booking or those Dusty finishes.
I don't care to see him in an on-screen role either. But I guess that would be better than having him on the creative team. However good he was in WCW during the Bill Watt's reign, all his recent booking has sucked.
Hopefully they give him yellow polka dots and have him make an ass of himself again.

I like Watts and am a huge mark for the midsouth territory days but Watts was soooooo far past his prime at that time. The true idicator of that was the fact that the guy before him (K Allen Fry) who knew **** about wrestling had made a better success of the company than he did.
As for Rhodes, expect the heel champion to always lose by disqualification. However, also expect the ppv's to have better names.
