hair style for an oval shaped face

I have an oval shaped face, do you think it's wise to go with long hair (see attachment)

I really like the hair color tom cruise has in the attached picture, but not sure it will work for me. It will definitely take long to let me hair grow to that length too.

any thoughts? I heard generally that the shape/form of your face goes with certain hair styles...

The great thing about having an oval shaped face is that you can basically pull off any hairstyle, whereas with round, angular, square, or heart shaped faces, you need to be cautious of the way your hair frames your face.

I say go for whatever your heart desires!

yeah I think the general rule is if you have a round face, you'll look crappy with short hair (picture a fat bald guy?). Long hair works if you have a long/oval/angled type face. never really thought about it though.
