Anyone know what happened to Kingda Ka ?
I was at six flags in NJ yesterday all siked to go on the new Kingda Ka roller coaster, but they said it was closed and may not re-open ? Does anyone know if someone got hurt or was there a malfunction ? That thing looks nuts..

People have gotten hurt
In a recent test run, 6 out of 14 dummies "died"
I think the requirements now to open a roller coaster is to test it 100,000 times straight
It would be funny when they finally open and the first time it runs it breaks and people die...wait that's not funny at all...not cool...

Sorry Dude, its shut down. I went on Nitro which was bad ass, nice drops. Medusa was kinda cool( first time on that ) I also did this sky-diving thing that was awesome, they basically raise you from a cord about 175 feet up and just drop you..as you swing across people walking by....I felt like i was on fear factor.

Huge Kingda Ka Breakdown
Six Flags Great Adventure: The new record-breaker is down for testing.
By Coaster Guy (posted via 68.197.30.17)
KK has broken down for a while it seems. No one knows what has happened, except the train is at the end of the launch track and is covered in a tarp. Also, people at the park during the incident have said things were flying from the air and there was smoke. The ride was down all day yesterday (thursday) and is down all day today (Friday) The park is closed for a private event tomorrrow. No one knows when the ride will reopen.

how do you people not know this stuff. Kingda Ka has been closed due to some custom part of their track malfunctioning. Since its a custom part they have to get it built and sent, and then they have to run tests on it again. I love all the fake rumours. By the way its basically confirmed that SFGAdv is getting another new coaster next year, thats WOODEN. Finally a sweet wooden coaster, and progress is already underway. The Viper section is ripped apart , that coaster is torn down, and trees are being ripped apart as they are setting up for the wooden coaster.

Haha, the day after I went on Kingda Ka, it shut down indefinately until they fixed it. That would have sucked if I was on it the day it broke down. From what I hear during a test run, a bunch of parts from the ride fell off and they don't know what parts, and they can't find the missing parts on the ground either, so it will probably be a while. Anyways, I've been on it and it really isn't that great. It's good, but its not worth the four hour wait that you would have to wait (when it was open). Nitro is way better.
