Is this how you do windmills?
Windmills
Start standing up, and left hand goes down to right foot, then up and right hand down to left foot, then stand upright. Counts as one rep, repeat 10 times.
?
Thanks,
CD

I can be mistaken but wwhat you described is a saxon bend. A windmil is just that a windmill effect, left arm goes up, keep in mind this is not a lateral raise so use light weight, then right arm goes up as left arm goes down

windmills aren't what you're describing, I think
They're primarily good for warming up the shoulders. And you should use light weight, really only 5 or 10 pound weight plate, should be enough. Keep your arm straight and just swing it 360 degrees in a big arc motion

dude, read bigpump's post again. What you described in your first post is a side bend, which DOES hit your obliques. But they're called side bends, not windmills. Windmills are for your shoulders

I disagree windmills are for your OBLIQUIES. I can see how people can consider them a shoulder exercise but if done correctly and by paying attention to make making it a lateral raise they will work your obliques very nicely
