Great New Gym....but tired of posers and haters
Hey ya'll I just wanted to let off a little steam and get some feedback from anyone who has the same issues that I do, or knows what I'm talking about.
I started working out at Gold's gym about a year ago I guess, I had been working out at Racquetball and Fitness (Spectrum)...it's only in San Antonio and one other state i think...anyways I loved the feel of the workouts I got there. Spectrum had become too lazy, it was freezing cold in there all the time, NO INTENSE lifting whatsoever, pretty much just old people takin forever on machines, and it was like snooty....kinda place where their like "don't sweat on that machine!" You probably know the type. So I figured it was time to get outta there!
Gold's was totally different. The gym felt smaller but it was grungier, hotter, VERY INTENSE people working out, heck there is even an IFBB pro (Frank Roberson) working out there who helped me out some on diet, and exercise for my first show!
Gold's was definetly a step up, and we were getting great workouts night after night....not to mention the hunnies were alot more plentiful .
But now...things are starting to change. SOOOO many haters in there! when I was gettin ready for my first show alot of people were very excited but u always get ur crowd who's hatin. and it's the same punks! they were the top dogs at the gym before me and my training partner came and we took it by storm. They never liked us, and we always catch them maddogin us. It is just so freakin annoying. Thank God a new one is goin in closer to my house soon, so I can get out. Does anyone else have the same problem? I mean it is just soooo annoying to have these guys just hate all day long! Also you got these posers. This one guy I saw the other day had a long sleeve shirt on, but had one sleeve cut off, and what looked like a skiiing glove on that hand. I mean how stupid is that! I dunno maybe it's some new trend but that's just stupid if u ask me.
Well I hope y'all can relate and if any one wants to comment on the haters and posers in their gym to let off steam lets hear it.
Peace-and I attached some pics of my before and after transformation after working out at Golds.

Workout Time
My gym is full of haters that walk by you and flare lats and such to make them selvs seem better than you...........................But they all come in around 6:00pm I workout at 4:45AM When it is that time in the gym no one is there that is there to "look cool" people are there to get their day started and get a deisil work out going If you ask me no one wants to bother sending out ****ty vibes when their setting the mood for their own day
Its funny all the "bad ass" guys that come in around 6:00 think their mad men benching 315 and such but all the heavy lifting is done in the morning by the people that get in at 430 when it opens (me now becasue I just got a job at a health food store where I have to start at 7:00) Hell, benching 315 there are guys that shoulder press 365 FOR REPS in my gym and bench 405 on incline for 7..........7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and cant forget the 15000 pound leg press for 10 any ways Thats not Me ezactly yet but soon enough soon enough

lol, that never happen to me. I go to LA fitness and there are alot of normal people. Not old people but just normal teenagers and some really big guys, they're nice. And I don't really think they'd want to beef with a 150 lbs kid.

My workout partner and I get pretty loud during our sets too. Just the other day we were doing deadlifts, and ever since he saw this video of Ronnie Coleman shouting lightweight before pressing 200lb dumbells he likes to yell it to. and I see the looks from the haters. anyways he threw up 505lbs 1 time on the dead lift and i got 435 4 times. I was pretty loud...u can't be silent doing that heavy of deadlifts, anyways the whole gym was starring, some came over and told me it was awesome and other were hatin as usual. people just jealous. then i saw this guy doing barbel curls with like a 25 on each side and he was sloppy horrible form all over the place nad he was screamin like he was doing 500 lbs squats. morons

I think the strutting across the floor creates the problem rather then the grunts.

Yeah, but as long as he doesn't bump into anyone or get in anyone's way what is the big deal? I see what you are saying, I guess I just don't understand why someone would have an issue with that. I guess I'm just different than others when i'm in the gym. I crank my mp3 player, wear a hat down to my eyebrows and just lift. I don't look at anyone, I just get down and dirty. I'm basically in my own little world when i'm lifting. I just don't concern myself with what others are doing, as long as what they're doing doesn't affect me that is.

I think I would agree with that. But you can tell from the video that he's just getting pumped for the set. I've seen that exact head nod and facial expression from my training partner. And that is why we have haters because of that probably and because the fact that we're loud.

From San Antonio
Hey Hulkster which golds in SA are you working out at???? I just moved from SA to Eureka Springs, AR and know the feeling when I was there. I was working out at the golds gym at 1000 oaks and perrinbietel. A friend of mine is a manager at the spectrum club by stone oaks.
I noticed when I worked out at Golds and started making really good gains people would accuse me of taking steroids and being haters! I know that Golds is definately a better place to workout than going to spectrum....those SOBs screwed me over with their membership dues when cancelling!!!!
Otherwise I would recommend working out at Olympic Gym off of Nacodoches behind Fudruckers Burger Joint! Hardcore gym.....I was trained by James Butler who won the senior and overall title for Mr. Texas at one point. Also I trained for awhile with Matt Mendenhall who was an aspiring bodybuilder in the 1990s who placed 2nd place to Lee Haney in 1982 at Nationals!!!! Great bodybuilders there who are more than willing to help out anyone looking for advice.
You want a hardcore gym go there!!!!

man..this is why i want to just build my own gym.
there is this dude that works at my gym that is usually over by the cardio room shadow boxing all the time. i walked in. sat over on the flat bench and comes running over and tells me that "I better warm up properly this time" and I told him to "go watch a Chuck Norris movie and leave me the hell alone" it's like the freakin gym police.

I think 99% of college gyms are like that. I go to Florida State and the school gym is ridiculous. I must admit there are some ridicuosly hot women on the treadmills, but I go to the gym to train, not to do 1 set, talk for 15 mins, then half ass another set. You just have to learn to deal with it, if the gym is top class and in my case cheapest, just turn the volume up on the Ipod and let the good times roll.
