who has lost weight doing keto???
you may not think this is the right section, but i wanted to put it here.
i want to see how many people have successfully used a keto diet to loose weight and keep it off?
opinions on the diet are also welcome.
i do this because there does not seem to be many people using it!?
thanks.

Did you miss the keto section or forget to search? There are quite a few people on here logging it and many more who love the diet.

The only person who i've noticed who posts regularly on both Keto and Losing fat forums is Skelooth, whose made some very good progress with keto.
I am also on keto myself but I don't think it's for me, I like to go out drinking once a fortnight and it seems to drive keto crazy. With dedication and if you are strict I think keto can be a very good diet.
Personally I would suggest trying carb cycling if you have not, I made a nice little gain of mass aswell as fatloss on my first 4 week carb cycle trial (from BF measurements roughly 9lbs fat lost and 4lbs mass gained, first time lifting though).
Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying you shouldn't try keto just that carb cycling worked better for me though it depends on the individual.
I'm the type of person who likes to try everything, I have given carb cycling and keto both a 4 week trial. This gives me a chance to find what suits me plus I can see how the diet would fit into my lifestyle and with the things I enjoy doing.

I have had success with Keto, however you make a very good point. It is very unforgiving when you cheat, or at least it was with me. If you feel you will be unable to go any long stretches being strict, you might want to consider other options.

thanks for the reply vegy, the reason i made this post is that i have been trying diets with carbs for months now with little/no success. the only ever time it seems i lost weight was with atkins diet. however this weight was put back on when i returned to me old eating habits.
however, it all seems to make sense how keto works, and i have a good feeling it will work for me, as long as i come off slowly when goin onto a bulk so i dont pile all the weight on again.

You should give carb cycling a try then and adjust the levels to meet your needs.

Almost in the single digit BF% thanks to keto
I started Keto on May 22nd at 20ish% body fat and 160lbs total weight. I was fat enough I didn't want to get measured so I don't have exact numbers from when I started...Below are the numbers since I have been measuring.
6/4/2005
148 LB. (124.3 LB. LBM) / 16% BF
7/9/2005
144.5 LB. (126.5 LB. LBM) / 12.5% BF
7/14/2005
144 LB. (128 LB. LBM) / 11.3% BF
After the 3rd week I started doing CKD carb-ups Friday night till Saturday night. I was very strict on the diet except on carbups and for a 4 day stretch during the 4th of July weekend. I ate sugar carbs and basically whatever the hell I wanted at those times. I feel that the "carb-ups" really helped fuel my muscles for the upcoming workouts and also my mind!
I was able to still lift pretty heavy (for such a lightweight) 3 times a week and tried to do 20 minutes on my stationary bike on the off days. I would say like everything else it's not for everyone but it clearly worked for me and is worth a try.
Also www.fitday.com is an awesome tool to help you track your progress and daily diet information, plus its FREE!

You were doing something wrong then. Period. Probably (edit: definately) eating too many calories.
