Got my first car!!
Got my first car!!
Vauxhall Astra
3 door hatchback
1.4
M reg
year: 1995
I have recently lowered the suspension using the M3 kit, put the M3 front bumper on, a small spoiler and a permazaust (exhaust)... (removed regie plates so I can fit new ones)
Plans for the next few months are to fit a larger spoiler, rear M3 bumper, M3 side skirts and respray it to black!!
For my interiors I have alredy stripped them out fitting a new dashboard hopefully with a DVD player, the sound system will include 2 subs that will sit in parcel shelf (made from hardwood varnished) and 2 sub boxes which will sit inside the boot (again made from hardwood and varnished).
I have recently bought 2 bucket seats wif safety harness seatbelts a new steering wheel and back seat covers...
Once am finished with this bad boy it will look like the king of dominatrix himself!!
But insurance will cost me a bomb!!
Just for intrest what was your first car, what mods did you do?! (if you did any) and how long did you keep it for?!

I may get one like that to put in my trunk in case I ever get a flat tire.
My first car was a 1963 Impala. It had a built 350 and a Pioneer Stereo system. It looked similar to this, but mine had 4 doors:

My first car... I worked for an entire winter shoveling snow, and a summer as a Yard work slave for my neighborhood, to save up for my first car shortly after I turned 16...
Bought a 1978 Toyota (I think it was a Corolla?)... **** Brown... Rusted to hell... No radio... The Front passenger brake only went on at about half intensity when you stepped on the manual brake... So everytime I stopped I either had to crank the wheel the other direction or go straight into the ditch... The Muffler started dragging after the frist 15 miles...
I still remember the time my buddy and I are driving around, muffler is dragging really bad... We didn't realize at that point that Mufflers got really hot... My buddy finally says "Stop the car, I'm just going to pull the muffler off!" He gets down on the ground, reaches under the car, and grabs the muffler bare handed... Starts Screaming as he sears the flesh from his hands.
LOL
I only had the car for like 2 months... One day my mother drove it to work as I had to run some errands using her station wagon... On the drive back from work the Car got a wire fire and burst into flames while my mother was in the car... She got out, and ran... After that she just went out and bought me a 1978 cutlass!
Ah the joy and pain of that first beater car!

Ive already done the engine parts installed all new parts ie oil filters, induction filters, plus the chip new clutch cable, timing belt, spark plugs turbo and added a dump valve on aswell I have also used the M3 brake padz and discs, I'm planning on (once I save up enough) on gettin a Speed camera tracker, it sends a bleeping signal once approaching a Speed camera to warn you to slow down!!
Heres another few pics bit hard to see as it was taking with a camera phone!!

First vehicle was a '86 Dodge Ramcharger lifted on 36's. Second and current is a 1997 Dodge Dakota with the 318 v8. I also own a 2004 Kawasaki VN800B and after I graduate this upcoming spring I'm going to get a Dodge Power Wagon. Here is a picture of a stock Power Wagon:

My first car, and the one I drive now is a 1989 Volvo 740. The best thing about it is that I can run into things and the car doesn't get hurt very bad. I got into a wreck with an accord and put a huge dent on his driver side and it did nothing to my car.

You should stop wasting your money on that tiny thing and save up for a real sports car. I imagine that 1.4l engine sends you to 100kmh/60mph in a blazing 10 seconds or so huh

Amen. Had the same car till about a year ago. Most people drive defensively, but with that car, I was on offense all the time. If someone wanted to cut me off, go ahead and try, i'm not slowing down. I was never afraid to get into an accident. I was in 4 or 5, no damage to my car.

here's my first car...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...z/IM000777.jpg
I bought it about 6 months ago when I got my license...I've had fun times in it, but with all the problems im facing now (transmission, clutch, brakes) im going to sell it....im going to miss it and the fantastic gas milage it got (35/gallon) but hopefully i can get something a little more current with less problems

Yea, it looks like a Geo Metro. Don't waste your money on modding it. Get a better car a while down the road and mod that one.
