What do you put on your bread/toast as a topping?
Hey guys...just wondering what kind of spread you use on your breads. When I make my whole wheat toast in the morning, I had originally put peanut butter on it...but decided to switch because im in the process of trying to eat fairly clean to cut up for the summer, and wanted to keep the fats down. I stay away from butter and margarine as well...but in my house we have something called Olivio, its a vegetable oil spread supposedly derived from olive oil. i think there is only something like 1 gram of sat fat, but still has 8 grams of fat total...
So my question is, is there anything healthy to put on bread to make it taste better thats low in fat, like around 2-3 gram...and even somewhat high in protein???
Also, does toasting the bread make it lose any of its nutrients? Thanks.

well first off you said you want to stop using peanut butter because your cleaning up your diet peanut butter is excellent for a clean diet the fat is healthy fat but if you still want to change i dont know very many toppings that are high protein some things you can use are sugarfree jelly only 10 calories each tablespoon, or you can make an egg white sandwich.

Natural peanut butter tastes great on toast. Add some sugar free jam on top if you are in the mood. Wash down with a big glass of milk.

Peanut butter, Almond butter etc (Any kind of nut butter so long as it is natural), Cottage cheese, or any sugar/calorie free jam. The walden farms range of products is also pretty good.

There are tuna spreads available with veggies. Thats what I get. Problem is, you have to get used to the smell. Some may not be affected, but some will.

wait a minute , there is nothing wrong with PB, just cut the amount you put in it, but besides that, there is always fresh fruit mashed up.

You can get natural peanut butter at most supermarkets. Try a few different brands to find the one you like.
Almond butter you can get at Whole Foods Market or Trader Joes.
