Canadian Chick's Journal :)
Well I must say that I really like this site! I just started posting on here a few weeks ago, and really like the advice that you all have to offer! So here I am, going to post my journal. Any feedback would be super, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks all!
Well first of all, I am a 23 year old female, 5'2", and currently 120 lbs. I started the Abs diet from the Mens Health Magazine in the middle of February. I started out at 133 lbs, and 29% body fat. Now, I know that is WAAAAY off because I was using a scale that my boyfriend bought which I know arent accurate at all. Anywho, I work out 6 times a week, 3 cardio, and 3 weights. My cardio sessions are usually about 30+ mins long- 13 mins treadmill, 10 bike, 10 mins elliptical, all doing HIIT. Before that, I do about 15 mins of abs, and jumping rope. On my lifting days, I do abs and jumping rope as wel, and then about 10 different exercises (squats, deadlifts, bench press, lunges, etc ) for 3 sets of each-about 8-10 in each set.
Now, for my eating, I consume approx 1200-1300 cals a day which is what I have read that Im sapposed to eat in order to lose weight. I am very strict on this, and eat clean 99.9% of the time. I eat 6 meals and day, and drink 3-4 litres of water each day.
My day usually consists of 1/3 cup of oatmeal, cup of blueberries, and a tablespoon of yogurt (plus ground flax seed) for breakfast, 1/3 cup of cottage cheese and a piece of fruit for a snack, 2 rice cakes with natural PB and a small banana for meal 3, another piece of fruit for my next meal, chicken (or some type of lean meat) a salad, and veg's for supper, and then a can of tuna with mustard and salsa for my last snack (or Cottage cheese, depending).
Now here are my questions. I have been doing this same type of routine (changed slightly here and there) for about 3 months now. Ive lost 13 lbs to date, and about 5% bodyfat (though its still not the accurate reading), but Im scared that I am going to hit a plateau soon, and wont know how to get out of it. I think maybe in the 3 months, I have had one cheat meal, and it wasnt reallly even a cheat-white rice with chicken and sweet and sour sauce. Is this something that I should be having more often to keep my metabolism guessing? Also, someone on here suggested a "refeed" basically just a day of clean food, just in bigger portions. I need suggestions as to what to do here if I do hit a plateau, and also, what I should do to my current workout routine to change it up. As well, about 2 times a week (usually on lifting days) I go to the pool and swim vigorous laps for about 45 mins- just for extra exercise.
Sorry this is sooo lengthy, just trying to fit everything in that I think is important! Any advice would be super, and thanks again!
