Ric Flair Retiring Next Year
So Flair says he wants to retire next year and says,
"If I could write that script, I would just say that I would be in a marquee position...I would like to wrestle a marquee guy, a big name, in my last match," Flair said. "Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, John Cena...I would love to wrestle in a marquee position in a marquee match and just have my finest hour."
__
With that being said, instead of him retiring at WM25 with the belt in the main event, what would you guys think about a Special Pay Per View next year just for Ric Flair?
The event could be a two hour PPV Spectacular where Flair would step into the ring against Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, John Cena and Batista in a six man main event?
The first 45 minutes could be a little mini-recap history on the career of Ric Flair, interviews, farewell speaches, etc. The next hour would be the match itself, and the remaining 15 minutes would be the post match celebration?
Whether or not he wins the title in that match can be added later, but would you guys be up for a two hour PPV Special honoring the career of Ric Flair with a final send off match? I think the guy deserves an entire evening to be devoted to himself considering all he's done for the business instead of just giving him a 20 minute match at Wrestlemania.
Thoughts?

There's really nobody else in the WWE right now worth such an honor IMO. I think they should have him win and retire with the belt.

I think that idea for a ric flair ppv and him winning the title ****ing sucks.
Bret doesn't get one, neither do many other wrestlers, but this old has been who's wrestling because he's in so much debt through his own fault does?
No thanks.
Why wait till next year? He could retire now for all I care.

Don't give a ****.
Flair nut huggers act like he's the ONLY wrestler from the past.
Well no, he's not. The only reason he is still around is because he's in debt and can't let go. Nothing great about sullying your legacy.
No other wrestler from the past got special treatment and neither should he.

Well, this is exactly how Vince McMahon has conditioned fans to feel, and frankly, it's sad. This is why wrestlers don't have health insurance, pensions or retirements, because once they are used up the promoters, the business and the fans put them out to pasture and forget about them, regardless of how much they contributed to the business.
Maybe it's time for those things to change, but it's near impossible when fans have this kind of attitude. Only fans that are appreciative of the sacrifices that guys like Flair, Rhodes, Race, Bruno have made will be able to push for Vince and other promoters to give back to them commensurate to what they have put into the business. And in the case of Flair, he has done more for professional wrestling than 99% of guys in the past 30 years.

No, but Ric Flair shouldn't be ****ing wrestling at all now.
It's sad you encourage a washed up has been to keep hogging spotlight instead of moving on gracefully.
Look at Bret, he seems perfectly happy and stable now. So does Bruno Sammartino. People who can't let go are just sad, shells of themsleves, and to see you encourage them keep going out there instead of letting go and moving on is just a shame.
The buisness gives these guys money and fame, and people like flair blow it on extravangant lifestyles and end up bust. How is that anyone's fault but Flairs?
I never said old wreslters should be forgotten about, but many more deserve respect than a guy who beats up women, gets road rage, is in debt to his eyeballs and can't retire gracefully. But if you want to support a guy like that, go ahead. Other wrestlers know to save money, and save themselves. Wrestlers should have a union, but guess what? Too many care about their own jobs to band together, so don't blame the fans for that, and don't blame the fans for wanting a washed up has been who's caused his problems himself to just get out of the lime light because he's an embaressment now to himself and his legacy.

If this is truly gonna be his last match...meaning he won't make 10 comebacks... then he should win a shot at the belt in some sort of unexpected way. Don't think a Flair win at the RR would be good unless the RR took place in his hometown.
At the moment Flair is on the backburner and it seems that most have forgotten about him... so a freak win would be great, and go on to win the title at some PPV, guessing WM 24. Let WM 24 end in a traditional classic way of Flair celebrating with the title. To start off RAW he can be in the ring, ready to retire the belt, when someone challenges him at the beginning of RAW for the title in the main event, with Flair picking up the victory at the end.... saying a farewell speech, thus ending his wrestling career.

How many wrestlers in America have said they are going to retire and actually do if they are still physically capable of wrestling? Jack Brisco is about the only one I can think of.

I'm all for a big Ric Flair angle to a send-off, but he doesnt need to retire with the belt. That just throws everything off.
The proper way for someone to go out is to put one of the young guns over. pass the torch.
Foley did it for Orton.
Austin to Rock.
Rock to Goldberg.
Jericho to Cena.
Taker has said he wanted Kane to win at WM20.
Hogan is the exception to the rule cause he's a whiney crying bitch.

It is, but the problem is Flair putting over somebody means little if anything these days because the way he has been booked since the late 1990's means pretty much everybody has beaten him to where instead of being a huge deal it is just Flair doing another job on tv for no reason.
The Austin to Rock one is funny because Rock is the last guy who needed help and was at Austin's level and possibly above it at that point anyway- the only people Austin put over this decade aside from Rock are HHH & Angle who were already huge stars at that point anyway and now he comes back every so often and beats up the regulars, Rock losing to Goldberg is also funny because WWE did not want to push Goldberg and only had him because Rock wanted to work with him and once that was done he was wearing wigs, falling over and being made to look like an idiot by HHH every week. Foley is without doubt the least selfish guy in putting people over as he took HHH to a whole different level of stardom in 2000 having already made him a bigger star in 1997, giving Edge and Christian a huge rub and putting Orton over big time in 2004- although Orton has done his best to screw up his push.

Good let him retire he's too old, I saw the Rock put him in the sharpshooter on RAW on night and when he pushed up with his arms his nipples were still sagging to the mat. I dont want to see old saggy nipples on tv, nor did I like when they let May Young take off her top at the Royal Rumble. My Grandfather was watching it with me he said it looks like someone took an orange and beat it with a baseball bat. But I digress, I dont think I would mind seeing Ric with the title one last time or even right now on Smackdown. Let him have it so he can show the youngsters how to carry the belt. I've never been a fan of him but I still respect that the man is a legend.
