Yes, I was talking about a pencil. During language training that was one of the sentences we had to put together, it's been my favorite sentence every since. I've lost count of the number of times I've needed that when deployed to south and central america. I mean anyone can learn how to order food, get a beer, train soldiers, etc. The really cunning linguist (haha) knows how to describe a pencil.

In my high school Spanish class, my buddies and I would ask all the girls, "Das cabeza?", just to see if they could figure out what we were saying. Maybe I'll ask the wife tonight!

I was at my part time job one day (Macy's men's dept.) when one of the younger guys said he heard some Spanish guy say "dami cabeza". He asked what that meant. I said "give me head". He said "what?" I repeated it. He asked again because he couldn't hear (I was trying to be discreet). So I said it again, but louder. Then I realized how loud I said it and that there were other people around. A female coworker started laughing. I wanted to **** twice and die.

I work for THE bookstore distribution center. Ninety nine percent of the warehouse workers are Spanish. One year the company had a mariachi band come through the office. They often have a luncheon usually consisting of rice and beans (hell, I get that at home: I live with a Puerto Rican), so I pass on the festivities.
However, now the day's festivities are referred to as International Day. I suppose calling it Cinco de Mayo and referring to a Mexican holiday pisses off the Columbians, Guatemalans, Peruvians and other Latinos at the warehouse.

Speaking of bad grammatical spanish. I used to say "Quien Nariz?" Translated: Who nose.
