If you could become immortal, would you?
Say scientists invented a vaccine that cured death, but they only had the technology/resources to create one and offered it to you, would you take it?
Keep in mind everyone you know/love will die and you cant possibly die. i.e. you HAVE to live forever (suicide is not possible.)
I think I would just to see what new things/places/ideas we discover in the future, although I think i'd get pretty tired of it in a couple thousand years and probably wish that I hadnt chosen it.

The human brain can not fathom eternity. I'm not sure I would like it.

Yes, I would. I love life and would want to live forever... as long as I could be physical capable of sports, sex, and other fun stuff. I don't wanna live forever as someone who can hardly get up... but as someone from age 20 - 40 would be good.
I dunno. I just don't wanna die and find life precious, so being able to have that last forever would be great. Plus, I'd get to experience so much... sure there would be sad moments, but good stuff too.
Oh and as long as I could keep memories with me. Since doubt a human brain can process say hundreds or thousands of years of memories...

The day you took the vaccine you would stop to age completely, so in other words you could choose what age/physical state you'd want to remain in.

If you could live forever, don't you think you'd have the time to save and become rich? Sometimes gathering money takes generations and after enough trial and error, and hell, even luck... you're bound to get rich sooner or later. Or at least bound to not be poor, unless you are a lazy **** and then you deserve to be poor cuz it's your own fault if you live forever and remain poor. You have all the time in the world, literally.

well you'd probably be sucked into a stellar object's gravitational feild and then be trapped in it for a few billion years until it exploded, then hoped that the explosion would propel you to something more exciting.
Remember, you're indestructible so a billion years trapped in the sun's atmosphere wont hurt you in the least, although it would probably be boring as hell.

I'm a believer in that there is something better out there, when you die. So no, I wouldn't want to live forever on Earth.

I'd take the vaccine at 30 years old.
Then I'd establish myself as a mesiah and create a super religion. One that will change history.
I'd have legions of followers and worshippers.

I dunno, there's some greatness in that I feel like. Have you or anyone else ever watched the show Angel (spin off from Buffy)? It often deals with that... since vampires are immortal (unless staked or in sun, etc). But, I don't think suffering, at times, is all bad. And I highly doubt you wouldn't feel happiness. Regardless of how repititve things become, and they won't be THAt bad since we are evolving new technologies and would be in the future, I don't think you'd only feel alone... just because someone won't be with you soon doesn't mean you won't enjoy them while they are there.
You have a pet, right? You know they'll die LONG before you do (hopefully), yet does that make you feel alone around that pet? Do you not get attached because of this? No, you still love and have fun with your dog or whatever, even if it'll die and you will probably get another one.
It'd be the same thing, jsut people around you would also die and you'd keep going... and you'd find new people and always take memories with you as well.
I'd love to live forever. It'd be amazing.

What you guys are getting is that this state would last forever.
Like BILLIONS OF BILLIONS OF BILLIONS of years, you'd live so long that even the life of our solar system would seem like a millisecond to your memory. Would you be willing to trade an eternity of lonliness for a few thousand years of absolute power?

everyone imagine this for a second
if you are immortal with the ability to regenerate without new material coming from food and drink, theoretically, you can just fap away forever
creating a planet composed entirely of fap juice
