I've been following this story on another forum, and it's disgusting to say the least. Not so much because of the one ****bag cop's behavior, though he should be fired immediately and/or charged, but due to the fact that his fellow law enforcement officers actually condone this type of behavior.

A lot of non-SL cops agree that this guy is a douchebag. This just doesn't speak very highly of St. Louis PD in particular.

It's not the power, it's a lack of oversight.

Behavior like this should earn an LEO a felony. He's obviously a dangerous person. He not only threatened to frame someone and stalked/harassed him, he also threatened to kill him.

What sucks, is that without credible video evidence in mnay cases its the persons word against the LEO. Most people will believe the LEO. Not saying that people dont make false claims either.

There is little accountability for the dashboard cam videos. They are "lost" at the most convenient times.

Lose a dashboard cam video? In a perfect world, that too will earn you a felony. You are essentially tampering with police evidence, ie: the police body which the officer serves, none of this "I am the law!" ****.

There's only 4 words you utter to a police officer.

"yes, sir" or "no, sir".

The guy was clearly being a smartass right from the start, and why was he rolling around with a video camera like he was expecting a situation to arise, maybe he's known to police in the area and has been arrested previously

You can't make a judgement call on a situation by watching a 10 min video

Just because a parking lot is technically open 24 hours doesn't restrict officers from moving people on since there is no valid reason to sit in an abandonded parking lot at night

You should probably just put me on ignore if i'm such a tool, it'll save your brain power from reading.

He wasn't being a smart ass, he was doing something that was LEGAL, and he asked for clarification on why he was being talked to, to which the officer became an infuriated *******. If you are honestly siding with the cop in this situation then you are seriously too far gone to have any rational discussion with.

And yes, I will probably put you on ignore, thats what I typically do with trolls, because you have to be one, probably give you neg first for good measure.

Yeah, if you live in a fascist state, then you have a valid point. If you live in a free state, then you should expect not to be harassed by jack booted thugs. Unfortunately, our courts have seen fit to water down our Bill of Rights authorizing police and government agencies to violate our rights. Wiretaps and no knock warrants are fine examples of this.

At the very least the officer should be fired. Personally I think the motorist was threatened and his civil rights violated and charges should be filed. Then again, I still believe in freedom.

The OP needs to immigrate to China. Their civil rights record is probably more in line to the utopia he seeks.

This is the problem of the F.B.I., they are REQUIRED by law to investigate ALL complaints regarding abuse of power in regards to Police Officers.. yet, no surprise they dont do it..

During 2005, there were almost 20,000 complaints about abuse of power in regards to police officers.. the F.B.I. investigated 3 of them..

Much like most things the Govt. is REQUIRED to do, it's not getting done as usual when it comes to protecting "We the People".
