Crackhead got away with my 40$ Did I do the right thing? (serious)

Something really.....i cant even find a word to describe what just happened to me right now, so ill try to explain it as best I can.

2 hours earlier, I was at home, and I decided to go to a big park near downtown where dealers usually hang out at night. Thing is, these last few years, more and more crackheads take this as a gathering place......
So i bike there, lock my bike a few corners away, and walk towards the park. Of course, some arab-ish guy asks me as soon as I get there what do I want. I tell him what I want, he tells me the price, so im like ok, and I give him 40$. I believed he was going to give it to me right away, but no, he says we have to go to his friend so he can give him the money. At this point I knew I had made a mistake.

So we go to his buddy, and he tells me stay there (few meters away from them). They start talking in arab or crackhead language, i couldnt understand -a thing. While they were talking, i picked up a rock about the size of my fist and put it in my pocket.

After a minute or two he comes back to me and gives me a bag with pretty much nothing in it compared to what i asked him. I argue with him, telling him this isnt what i asked and demanded my money back. Then he starts telling me his friend is gonna come back with 4 ounces in half an hour so i have to come back later........

So at this point im really starting to think wtf am I gonna do, so I tell him, hey, im gonna stay with you until he comes back. The guy, really spaced out, started walking in the park, towards downtown, all the while im telling him he lied to me etc.

At one point he tells me come with me and walks into a bar, and pulls out a 20$ bill. He gives it to the barman, and I go "Man, this is my money". The barman looks at me and says: "whatever, take this outside" and gives back the 20$ to the crackhead.

Now the crackhead is pissed against me, and tells me to **** off. Im like no i want my money. Then he starts picking up rocks and throwing them at me, while i try to keep my distance. I keep following him at a distance for a while, him still trying to get me to leave. He turns a corner, i follow, and then i dont see him anymore, so i take the rock, throw it away and tell to myself **** this.

So im walking towards the park when i see a 5 foot long piece of wood (solid and light). I pick it up, and go back in the little aisle where the crackhead disappeared. Not much to my surprise, i see him coming out from a corner or something, where he must have hid.

He sees me, with my piece of wood, and start walking away and hes like "you dont wanna die here". I dont say anything, just keeping my distance, and deciding wether or not I just charge and **** him up. Then, I think he went in a corner and picked up something too, but i didnt know what, since he was hiding behinds the corner of a building.

I just could make my mind to attack him......so I just screamed rot in hell and left. I went back to the park (it started raining at that point) and decided to hide in a corner with my stick in case he came back. I waited a while, mentally debating
-Why didnt I attack him
-Should I just leave
-Should I go back and try to find him
etc

After half an hour or so at most, i just decide to leave, and biked my way home in the rain, talking to myself.

I thought several things:
- I shouldve broken his legs, killed him, whatever.
- you learned a lesson tonight
- the guy is living in hell already, i cant hurt him anymore than he is ****ed up right now
- I shouldve never trusted him in the first place

I think i learned something tonight..............but did I do the right thing? Should I have attacked first? After all.....hes a crackhead......I have a 5 foot long stick......why did I hesitate?? Or is this all my fault, i was stupid to trust such a man, and it cost me 40 bucks to learn that.

You shoulda set him straight in the beginning. You seem like a big guy so you prolly coulda handled yourself.

Ofcourse if he had a weapon on him that's a diff story but you could have prolly told how dangerous the guy was after being with him for a few minutes.

Thats whats torturing me. If he didnt have a knife or anything, which I didnt know, I couldve overpowered him anytime I wanted. Something just......prevented me from doing so........and now im wondering why?

And btw, no i wasnt buying crack you idiots, its kinda obvious what i wanted to buy.

there was a thread almost identical to this a while ago. some guy picked up a crack head because he wanted a qp. gave the crack head a $100 and the crack head was like "alright we gotta go to this building" they went to a building and the crack head got out the car and said "stay here i'll be back". never came back

but seriously, there's no real telling what might happen, if the guys strapped, etc. Just play it cool in situations like that. Now if you head in there ready to kill, which you might next time you're in a situation like that, just don't hesitate

I went back to the bar and asked to barman why he didnt give the money back to me and he was like "Heh youre huge you shouldve just punched him he woudlve gave your money back"
