Holy f....that third pic, the one where he's comparing quads with Rich Gaspari...that's unbelievable.
Heard about his leg routine in FLEX, like 10 sets of squats, then 10 sets on the leg press or hack squat, leg extensions, leg curls and then a 10-mile cycle. Un-believable.

Flex has printed a lot of bs over the years. Arnold or another bodybuilder admitted that a lot of the articles were written for shock factor & to make the fans think they were super heros.

ya know i've heard tom platz takes so much flack from people out there hatin. saying that he was at best an average bodybuilder with way above average legs, that he lacked symmetry, and his only claim to fame was his thighs. but i say screw those people. honestly the man's legs are legendary! in my wildest dreams i wish i could possess thighs liek that last i checked i was around a 30 inch thigh. something to shoot for

Could you imagine how hard it would be for him to find a pair of pants that fit, especially at his height.

I got sour news for ya Jack, they aren't 42"!
Ron and Federov would be pushing at 40" but are over half a foot taller - I'd say 35 maybe 36" tops, but the shape, cuts and balance of his legs, as well as his legendary training, are just unbelievable.

Tom himself was very modest and not one for showing off, a great sportsman, he stated that his thigh measurements were 30" and "looked bigger than they really were". He was never one to give out numbers of how big he was, how much he lifted etc. he gave vague figures.

I'm so glad that someone said it.
LOL, 10 sets of squats, 10 sets of hack squat/legg press, 10 sets of legg curls and 10 mile cycle.
SURE, pro bodybuilder's can't overtrain, they're on steroids. LOL!!!

Ronnie and Federov don't have 40'' thighs or close. ****, even Vic Richards claimed his as being 36''.

Well, 26'' ain't very big to us yeah, but 10'' is indeed one heck of a lot in leg size. I just looked up Vic Richard's bio here on bb.com to double check and it turns out I was slightly off - but he still only claimed 37'' ( http://www.bodybuilders.com/victor.htm ). & Vic's legs are bigger than Ronnie's.

for taking first place in all of his contests except his first, you would think that he would have competed longer.

D'oh!! Looks like Rich though. I thought Demayo's legs were bigger than that, although anyone's legs would look small next to Platz.

I never heard him give measurements but he has given poundages - I have his seminar video where he talks about everything openly (incl steroid usage) and if I remember right I think 625 x 10 was his best EVER. He'd normally do something like that followed by a drop set going to failure with 5,4,3,2 plates a side respectively. He'd then do some extensions and calves and then a 20 mile cycle - he had to have the bike specially built because of his legs and build!

WHo cares what vic richards says. Chad Nicholls said Ron's legs are about 38" and that Federov's are a tiny bit bigger so pushing 40". Vic Richards guest posed at a 1994 FIBO event - Ronnie is 7 time Mr O - Nuff said.
