Weight from suits/shirts
I'm pretty much just wondering what you can really get out of good bench shirts, deadlifting and squat suits. Just looking for what people have gotten out of good ones, bad ones, ones people think are the best, etc. Normally I wouldn't make a thread about something like this since you can read and get answers to stuff like this in other threads. But I've read some mixed stuff, so I'd like to set the record straight on what people have had experience with.
I'm thinking of competing if it's possible to really get what I've read out of them. (150-200 for suits, 100 or so out of shirts.)

There are too many variables involved to make meaningful generalizations.

Confused. What do you mean? What kind of variables are there?

Variables includ the construction, size and material of the shirt, the bodily proportions of the lifter, the lifter's technique, and of course, the knowledge and skill of the lifter wearing the gear... among others.

Kik is right. You wont put it on and imediately get 150 pounds out of it. You have to start out with a novice level suit and work your way up with experience.
Suits usually go by percentage not really poundage.
World record raw bench is 715. World record equipped bench is 1000+
World record squat raw is 9 something. World record equipped is 1200+
Deadlift you dont really get much more than back and the balls to test your back to the max. 30 pounds maybe.
You will not see these results because these are top of the line multiply suits and you cant even hit parallel or chest if you cannot use a hyoooge amount of weight.
Joe Mazza has benched 475 raw in training and 700 equipped in training. He is one of the best out there as far as manipulating the suit.
I get maybe 70 pounds out of my loose single ply shirt but I could order the right size and be over 100 pounds.
I get 100 pounds easy out of my loose single ply squat suit. I also have a very strong upper back and can lock out 600+ raw from about 6 inches above parallel. So when I put on near 500 it seems easy with my suit.
A friend of mine has a weak back and gets maybe 30 pounds max out of my suit.
Like othes will say there are many variables. You will probably get 100 pounds out of a squat suit after learning how to use it. (cheap single ply)
And 50 pounds out of a shirt (cheap single ply).
If training alone without someone that knows how to use a shirt or suit you may get much less success. Keep reading up on it.

I have a single ply F6 and Centurion. I get about 70lbs out of my suit and less then 25 out of my bench shirt.
My shirt is loose and my suit is also a bit loose. If I went a size smaller I would get more out of them, but when I got them I had a hard time locking out anything over my raw max.

This is the problem with most who start to use gear. People often criticize equipped lifting without understanding the fact that you still have to lockout the weight you are using as well as HOLD the weight. I can lock out 100 pounds more than my raw bench and this is why I can press so much more with a shirt. Same with squats. For a long time I worked on lockouts in a rack and was standing up with 600 pounds raw from high pins which made squatting 500 in a suit feel like cake. You have to work the top portion of the lifts very good.

Why is that? (Like science and stuff, I guess.)
By the way, when you say a long time, what do you mean; like months or years?

I added 100 pounds to my LOCKOUT on the bench in one year. This is why my shirted bench went up 100 pounds very fast. I was new to lockouts like most people and was benching like 225 raw/shirted 275 and lockout out about 275. In a little over 9 months of training lockouts and shirt work my raw bench was 265 I could lockout 385 and my shirted bench was 350. I havent trained shirted for more than a year and my raw bench is over 300 now so I am hoping to do some damage with equipment.
Shirt work will also increase you lockout. In that first year I spent time in the shirt no less than once a week using above raw max weight. This really worked my tries. Just follow a westside type training routine with shirt work.
Keep in mind that just because your shirted bench shoots up, your raw bench may not move so fast. So if you are not planning on competing equipped I would focus on raw lifting. This is what Ive been doing lately.

....so board presses could be BP records also in this world you live in?
Still gotta lock the weight out right? Still gotta hold it.
Im not seeing a difference.

Look man I dont what your problem is or why you post here but it is really annoying. The world record holder in just about EVERY EVENT is held by the same person RAW AND EQUIPPED. Joe Mazza is heavily criticized for being a "shirt bencher" and from recent talks with him he is planning on setting the raw record in September. You dont just bench 1000 pounds because of a shirt. Most of these elite equipped PLers are also ELITE RAW LIFTERS.
PS I weigh 175 atm and I can beat your total raw and equipped. I dont know why you knock PLers so much but it does get old. Why would you post this in a thread that had nothing to do with RAW VS GEAR?????????

Scott Mendelson benched 715 raw and 1020 suited. The raw number tells us he is the greatest. Watch it on www.youtube.com Good range of motion, form....especially considering the record poundage. The suited number doesn't tell us anything.
The next generation of suits will add 400+ without the best guys bothering to get stronger. I may be an enthusiastic outsider looking in. But I value strength. I wouldn't bother with suits and wraps.
Good luck whatever you decide to do.
