... anybody into trip-hop? It seems to be an underrated style of music.

They're rooted in hip hop but a lot of their stuff can be classified as trip hop. They are not regular hip hop with the heavy kicks and snares. They're beats are obscure, Just like Portishead beats. Here is a list of what artists you should check out from Anticon.
