When you look down directly at your arms.....
Does anyone else get this effect? I've always done this. I look down directly at my arms and they look scrawny to me, but I'm okay (pretty much) with their size when I look in the mirror.
Anybody else?

I get the opposite effect. I look at my arms and **** looks big. But then I look in the mirror or in pictures and I see small forearms.

i have 16inch arms and when i look down at them i dont think of myself beign big but then i look into the mirros and im like wtf how do i go from thinking small to lookig big. weird.

Hell yea I do! I put on 60+lbs in 2 years and my forearms are pretty close in size to my upper arms. I look down and I see the same forearms I had at 136lbs even though they look like a giant's in the mirror.

Funny that you should mention this. I get almost the opposite effect on forearms. My forearms look big when looking straight down, especially when I flex them and I can see the bands and ridges, but my upper arms always look small until I actually look in a mirror or other reflection.

Funny YOU should mention that? I've never thought my arms were anything special? However, almost everybody I meet comments on how big they are?...frankly, I just don't see it. I guess they mean proportion, or maybe definition? In any event, size wise--for someone 6'4"--they're unremarkable

yes mine look scrawny, but kids my age tell me there big..(im 16) i know im not big to the average lifter but most kids my age dont lift a lot

I've noticed this, too. Since others comment on my arms saying they're big or ask the "do you workout?" question, I think it's just due to the angle you're looking from and that you're obviously familiar with them, so to you they're small, or at least normal.
