You're away from home...
So, you're away from home, and not expecting to workout. However, you find a decent rowing machine and some dumbells and actually manage a good workout and cardio session.
However, in this house, there is no whey or dextrose handy. What is a good substitute for a post-workout meal that you'd find in a normal kitchen?

A big bowl of cottage cheese, and I'm not sure but could you replace the dextrose with fructose say from Cranberry juice?

Just think of it this way Eileen....before there was Whey....what do you think bodybuilders did? While nowadays, with the competition for professionals, those precious minutes after the workout to take the shake matter, because if they dont, the next guy will be. However, I really feel that while it is beneficial, times like this just keep it simple and go eat some protein such as chicken or tuna...it really will not hurt you

Theoretically the protein from egg whites is quite quickly digested I believe. You could have that. For dextrose I'm not sure, I would have said a handful of Haribo but noone can only eat a handful!

Thanks guys, I'll keep those in mind for next time.
This time, I went for a low-fat yogurt. I knew it wasn't ideal, but it was the only thing I could find that seemed to be just protein and carbs. The rest of the kitchen seemed to be crawling in Easter eggs.

I heard eggs are slow digesting. Plus theres fat in eggs, which would not be great for PWO.
Can anybody confirm this?^
From what I heard fructose replaces liver glycogen first before it replaces muscle gycogen, Which is why its not a good idea to take PWO.

Yes, eggs are a great keto food, with fats and protein. But the egg whites are just protein. Tasteless, nasty protein, but still protein.
Yes, I avoided the fruit, but that left me with a limited choice. Hence the yogurt.
