Troy Vs. Fight club
I was wondering how much brad pitt weighed in Troy. The man is 6 feet tall.
Apparently he seemed decently bulked up in Troy but not as ripped as he was when he shot fight club.
My guess would be that he weighed around 175 for fight club.
And for Troy, around 195?
Who knows, maybe I'm way off. What would be your guess?
And which physique between the two, u guys think looks better?
i wonder how much cardio he did to get ripped for fight club.

I think he looked better in Fight Club. But, my guess would be that he was more like 165-170 in Fight Club and maybe 170-175 in Troy. He definately was not huge.
I bet he is normally like 160 or so.

I think you're pretty much right on. He may have been as high as 180 in Troy.

He looked better in Troy, easily.
He didn't impress me at all in fight club (and neither did the film, but that's another topic).
Not being gay or anything, but in Troy his body is much much better, then again, lighting, makeup, body hair, and camera angles help with that a lot, I'm sure he didn't look that good off screen.

I've also heard that they put makeup on muscles in movies to make them look bigger - anyone know if this is true or not?
i read that they will basically put slightly darker concealer on the bottom half of muscles so that it looks like your popping muscle has a shadow. supposedly it really enhances the appearance on-screen.
plus there's the obvious - in fight club, most of the lighting was directly overhead, which will make anyone's abs look better then in the sunlight.
basically, shadows make you look cut on film

Yep, you are exactly right.
Ive heard that they use makeup to define abdominals on male models in magazines too. Not that they don't have good bodies, but every little bit helps.
Camera angles, lighting and makeup all add to it.

He actually worked out hard with a trainer to get that "look" as Achilles the way the Greeks would have sculpted the hero as. They had some definate ideas of an ideal Male physique that is different from our modern one. Brad also stopped smoking and channelled the "withdrawl" aggression into his training.
Then trained several months with get the fighting style down pat. The same with Bana as Hector. The fight scene at the end was with no stuntmen or doubles. What you see is what you got at full speed......no camera tricks.

I wonder how much of a time-line these actors are given before they need to start shooting. Actors must feel serious pressure to be in peak condition.
But then again, that would be a fantastic impetus, motivating factor to workout with great intensity and be strict about your diet and do all the little things to build such a physique.
Man, I wish I had the impetus to approach each workout as if there was no tomorrow or something.

No way he is 6'0". He is only a few inches taller than Jennifer and she's maybe 5'4" or 5'5".

Seems like I heard he was 5'10", but Im not sure. He is actually pretty scrawny. Even in Troy. I think they used camera angles to make him look bigger than he actually is. I bet he wasn't over 180lbs in that.
I bet if an actor is told to get into tip top shape, they can do it within 3 months. Remember they have plenty of workout time and money for a personal trainer and chef.

The dude from "Two Guys, A Girl, And a Pizza Place" had a good bulk/cut for his role in Blade Trinity. I think it was closer to 5 months of hard core training, but I can't remember the interview.

Wow but, 3 months to be both ripped and bulked?
Those r two conflicting goals.
Maybe thats why brad pitt didnt look so ripped in troy.

Well, he didn't have a crappy body at the beginning of his training.
Also, I don't know if it was 3 months for him, but I bet most actors can change their body image within that amount of time. Maybe not a fat ass celeb, but someone like Brad Pitt or Ryan Reynolds.

Its like the old westerns, they made the doors smaller to make the cowboys to look larger than life. I tend to think they lie about the hight, its really is all about camera angles.

I wish I could afford a trainer and a chef. THat would be major a luxury. ANybody here hire a trainer and a chef?
A chef would basically be like your servant making all the 6 meals u need per day. WOuldnt that be convenient.
